Abstract:
A cathode device includes an emitter tip for generating electrons. An elongate heater is included having proximal and distal ends. The emitter tip can be located at the distal end of the heater. Two spaced apart legs can extend away from the distal end of the heater, terminating at the proximal end and forming an elongate slot therebetween. Two electrical contacts can compressively engage respective opposite outer surfaces of the two legs at the proximal end of the heater to mechanically secure and electrically connect the two legs of the heater to respective electrical contacts at a junction that is at a location spaced away from the emitter tip to keep the junction cooler.

Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of fabrication of new materials and coatings and may be used in plants designed for electron-beam heating, melting and evaporating of materials in vacuum or reactive gas atmosphere. The disclosed axial electron gun that comprises, in particular, the primary and secondary cathodes and features the figure-shaped holder used for maintaining a stable position of the secondary cathode relative to the electron-beam axis of the axial gun and the pulsed voltage that is applied between the cathodes for electron bombardment of the secondary cathode. The invention ensures an improved stability of process parameters and operation of the electron gun.
Abstract:
A cathode assembly is for use in a radiation generator and includes an ohmically heated cathode, and a support having formed therein a hole and a recess at least partially surrounding the hole. In addition, there is a mount coupled to the support. The mount includes a larger outer frame positioned within the recess, a smaller inner frame carrying the ohmically heated cathode and spaced apart from the larger outer frame, and a plurality of members coupling the smaller inner frame to the larger outer frame.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an X-ray tube includes an anode target, a cathode including a filament and a convergence electrode which includes a groove portion, and an envelope. The groove portion includes a pair of first bottom surfaces which are located in the same plane as the filament and between which the filament is interposed in a width direction of the groove portion, and a pair of second bottom surfaces between which the filament and the pair of first bottom surfaces are interposed in a length direction of the groove portion and which are located closer to an opening of the groove portion than the pair of first bottom surfaces.
Abstract:
There is provided an emitter structure, a gas ion source including the emitter structure, and a focused ion beam system including the gas ion source. The emitter structure includes a pair of conductive pins which are fixed to a base member, a filament which is connected between the pair of conductive pins, and an emitter which is connected to the filament and has a sharp tip. A supporting member is fixed to the base material, and the emitter is connected to the supporting member.
Abstract:
An electron gun (1) includes an emitter (2), a tubular support (3) and an adaptor (4) for receiving the emitter. The adaptor includes a tapered plugging surface (7) and the tubular support includes a correspondingly tapered seating surface (9) for receiving the plugging surface. The plugging surface and seating surface have conical profiles which help to position the adaptor concentrically with the support.
Abstract:
An emitter for a charged particle beam apparatus is provided, said emitter comprising a filament extending between and being attached to first and second supports, an emitter tip attached to the filament, and a stabilization element attached to a third support and to the filament, wherein the first, second and third supports define a triangle so that the stabilization element extends at least partially in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the filament extends.
Abstract:
A filament core wire capable of being mounted while having tension at a predetermined level applied thereto without an expensive anchor and without applying unnecessary tension thereto. The filament core wire is provided at a part thereof with spring and welded sections. The sections each are covered with a heat-decomposable block element made of acrylic resin or the like. Also, the core wire has a carbonate deposited thereon. The core wire is mounted on a mounting position by removing the block element from the welded section of the wire arranged on the fixing position by heating and then welding the welded section to a fixing spot of the fixing position. Then, block element is removed from the spring section by heating. This permits the filament core wire to be stretchedly arranged at the mounting position while keeping tension applied to the core wire to provide it with elasticity.
Abstract:
A fluorescent character display tube has an anode base plate, a frame, a filament supporting member, and a fixing layer. The frame is provided above the anode base plate and the filament supporting member is welded on the frame. The fixing layer is provided between the frame and the anode base plate such that the frame is securely and air-tightly fixed to the anode base plate. The fixing layer may be a low melting point glass layer or a high heat-resistant resin. The high heat-resistant resin may be polyimide. The arrangement enables to reducing the vibration of the frame thereby reducing the noise.
