Abstract:
This specification discloses a developer treating device for preventing scattering or similar phenomenon of developer in an electrophotographic copying machine. The device is applicable to a developing device, a cleaning device or the like disposed in opposed relationship with the surface of a photosensitive medium to be developed or to be cleaned. In order that the flow of developer may be positively utilized to prevent the same from flowing out of the developing device or the cleaning device, the device has a developer scatter preventing member such as stay or the like which forms a multistage slit between itself and the surface of the photosensitive medium.

Abstract:
A copy magnification modifying apparatus for changing the copy magnification by displacing optical members involved in the image formation to and maintaining the same at a position capable of forming an image of a selected magnification of an original onto a photosensitive member, including a rotary drive source, an optical member displacing mechanism for transmitting the drive force of the rotary drive source through one-directional rotary clutch and resilient member to said optical members thereby guiding the same along a determined path, an optical member stopper for stopping said optical members at a position corresponding to the selected image magnification, and a drive source control system adapted for continuing the function of the rotary drive source after the stopping of the optical members to cause a deformation in a resilient member thereby generating a resilient force biasing the one-directional rotary clutch in a direction opposite to the rotating direction thereof.
Abstract:
A driving device for a moving body comprises a drive shaft normally rotated in one direction by a drive source, a follower shaft in engagement with the drive shaft to transmit the drive to the moving body, one-way connecting means loosely mounted on the drive shaft to connect and disconnect the drive of the drive shaft to the follower shaft, and accumulator means for accumulating the returning force of the moving body by utilizing the movement of the moving body resulting from the normal rotation of the follower shaft. The follower shaft may be reversed in rotation by the accumulator means upon disconnection of the one-way connecting means and the speed of the reverse rotation of the follower shaft is controlled by operation of the one-way connecting means so as not to exceed the driving speed of the drive shaft.
Abstract:
In an electrophotographic copying apparatus of the type in which a toner image is transferred from the surface of a photosensitive medium to a transfer medium, a transfer medium separating device comprises a rotatable separating roller disposed downstream of an image transfer station where a toner image is transferred from the surface of the photosensitive medium to the transfer medium, a transfer medium end guide belt disposed in contact with the peripheral surface of the rotatable separating roller for separating one end of the transfer medium from the surface of the photosensitive medium at the image transfer station and for guiding the transfer medium away from the photosensitive medium after the image transfer, and a rotatable pressure roller disposed in pressure contact with the rotatable separating roller for transporting the transfer medium while urging the same against the rotatable separating roller and for separating the transfer medium from the surface of the photosensitive medium.
Abstract:
A sheet sorting device having a plurality of bin trays has a resilient member for imparting to a bin tray support member a force in the direction opposite to the direction of travity and reducing a load applied to bin tray driving means. Detecting means for stopping the driving of the driving means detects the movement of the driving means when the driving means moves up or down relative to the bin trays. Cam means has two lead portions, smoothes the movement of the bin group and makes the amount of opening between the bins always constant.
Abstract:
This specification discloses an automatic original feeding device for automatically feeding an original to an optical processing station in an image forming apparatus body. The automatic original feeding device is characterized by original feeding means having a guide for guiding the original to the optical processing station, conveying means for conveying the original guided by the guide to the optical processing station, and drive transmitting means for driving the conveying means by movement of the original carriage of the image forming apparatus, and change-over means for selectively restraining the original feeding means with respect to the image forming apparatus body or the original carriage. The specification also discloses an image forming apparatus provided with such automatic original feeding device. The optical processing station refers to a station for optically processing the original, such as the exposure station of an electrophotographic copying apparatus or the reading station of a facsimile apparatus, an optical character reading apparatus or the like. The image forming apparatus refers to an apparatus for recording the surface of an original, such as an electrophotographic copying apparatus, a facsimile apparatus or an optical character reading apparatus. The original refers to a member having information to be recorded or transmitted.
Abstract:
This specification discloses an automatic original conveying device for conveying a supported original to a reading position and discharging the original from the reading position after the surface to be read of the original is read. More particularly, the specification discloses an automatic original conveying device characterized by a supporting tray for supporting thereon originals in such a page order that the last page is lowermost and with the surfaces to be read of the originals facing upward, supply means for separating and feeding each lowermost one of the originals supported on the supporting tray, first guide means for reversing the original fed by the supply means and directing it to the reading position, original discharging means for discharging the original which has been directed to the reading position by the first guide means and whose surface to be read has been read, from the same side as that side on which the original has entered the reading position, and second guide means for reversing the original discharged from the reading position by the original discharging means and directing it to an original receiving portion.
Abstract:
An image forming technique employing a screen photosensitive medium having therein a plurality of fine openings. Using such screen photosensitive medium an electrostatic latent image is formed on an electric charge retainable member to be modulated under the action of a modulated corona ion stream. A non-image area can be formed on the member to be modulated by providing an ion stream blocking member between a modulation ion source and the screen photosensitive medium to block the ion stream flowing from the ion source to the screen photosensitive medium at a desired and limited area. The present invention enables to form a very sharp boundary between image area and non-image area.
Abstract:
