Abstract:
A magnetooptical recording medium provided with a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer having a higher Curie point and a lower coercive force than the first magnetic layer and being exchange coupled with the first magnetic layer satisfies the relation: ##EQU1## wherein H.sub.H is the coercive force of the first magnetic layer; H.sub.L is the coercive force of the second magnetic layer; M.sub.s is the saturation magnetization of the second magnetic layer; h is the thickness thereof; and .sigma..sub.w is the magnetic wall energy between the first and second magnetic layers.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has a first housing supporting the entire apparatus, a second housing openable relative to the first housing, image forming means for forming on an image bearing member a toner image corresponding to image information to be recorded, a first and a second rotatable member for holding the image bearing member therebetween and conveying the same to fix the toner image formed by the image forming means on the image bearing member, and resilient means acting to open the second housing relative to the first housing and acting for the pressing between the first rotatable member and the second rotatable member.
Abstract:
An image forming technique employing a screen photosensitive medium having therein a plurality of fine openings. Using such screen photosensitive medium an electrostatic latent image is formed on an electric charge retainable member to be modulated under the action of a modulated corona ion stream. A non-image area can be formed on the member to be modulated by providing an ion stream blocking member between a modulation ion source and the screen photosensitive medium to block the ion stream flowing from the ion source to the screen photosensitive medium at a desired and limited area. The present invention enables to form a very sharp boundary between image area and non-image area.
Abstract:
This specification discloses a cleaning device for removing residual developer or the like on an image bearing member. More particularly, it discloses a cleaning device in which a cleaning blade is sandwiched between sandwiching members and the cleaning blade and the sandwiching members are coupled together by a tightening force. The buffer portions for buffering the propagation of the tightening force to the blade are provided in the sandwiching members.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus with stapling or punching capability, in which the direction of image formed on a sheet is controlled according to the position of stapling or punching, in order to achieve efficient stapling or punching with a stapling or punching device.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus comprises a light source, a photosensitive member adopted to be illuminated by a light from the light source, a liquid crystal for controlling illumination and non-illumination of the light to the photosensitive member to form an image on the photosensitive member, a detector for detecting an image reproduction ability of the photosensitive member to set an image forming condition on the photosensitive member, and setting means for setting the liquid crystal to a predetermined state to allow the detection by the detector.
Abstract:
An image fixing device having at least a pair of rotatable members for fixing a toner image on an image supporting material. In order to provide a simple structure in which the image supporting material can be readily and positively removed during jamming or the like, the apparatus includes a discharge device selectively shiftable between a normal position and a temporal retracted position, a first power transmitting member for applying a driving force to one of the rotatable members, a second power transmitting member for applying a driving force from a source of power to the first power transmitting member, cooperating elements for positioning the first and second power transmitting members selectively at an operative position in which the members cooperate to transmit the driving force and at an inoperative position in which the first power transmitting member is separated from the second power transmitting member, and a manually operable member for rotating at least one of the pair of rotatable members.

Abstract:
A magnetooptical recording medium is provided with a transparent substrate, a first magnetic layer, a second magnetic layer having a higher Curie point and a lower coercive force than those of the first magnetic layer and being exchange coupled with the first magnetic layer. The medium further includes a third magnetic layer located between the first and second magnetic layers, so that the first magnetic layer is closer to the transparent substrate than the second and third magnetic layers and the third magnetic layer is closer to the transparent substrate than the second magnetic layer. Also disclosed is a process for recording on such a medium.
