    摘要: A canister includes a partition wall which extends toward the lid member with one end thereof connected to the end wall and opposite sides are connected to an inner surface of the casing body. First and second adsorbent layers, formed by an adsorbent, are retained between first and second filters and a third filter, respectively. The first and second filters are fixedly disposed on opposite sides of the partition wall to define first and second chambers between the first and second filters and the end wall, respectively. The third filter is placed and carried on an inner surface of a support plate which is fitted in the casing body and which has a large number of communication bores. The support plate and a lid member are biased by a spring in a direction to compress the first and second adsorbent layers. An inclination inhibiting portion is provided on at least one of the casing body and the partition wall on the opposite side from the third chamber with respect to the third filter and the support plate at a distance from the third filter which substantially corresponds to a distance between the third filter and the partition wall. Thus, it is possible to prevent a reduction in adsorbing efficiency by preventing the third filter and support plate from inclining.

    摘要: An evaporative fuel-processing system for an internal combustion engine includes a canister accommodating an adsorbent therein, for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated in a fuel tank of the engine, and a charging passage connecting between the canister and the fuel tank. A shutter valve is arranged in a fuel supply pipe of the fuel tank in the vicinity of an inlet end thereof, for isolating the interior of the fuel supply pipe from the atmosphere, and the shutter valve is disposed to be opened by the tip of a refueling gun when the latter is inserted into the fuel supply pipe. A pressure-intake port section is arranged in the fuel supply pipe at a side of the shutter valve closer to the main body of the fuel tank, for taking in pressure within the fuel supply pipe. A diaphragm valve is arranged in the charging passage, which has a casing, a diaphragm defining the interior of the casing into a first chamber and a second chamber, a valve element displaceable together with the diaphragm, an evaporative fuel outlet disposed to be opened and closed by the valve element, and a spring urging the valve element in a direction of closing the evaporative fuel outlet. The first chamber communicates with the pressure-intake port section, and the second chamber communicates with the interior of the fuel tank.

    摘要: In an evaporative fuel processing device, an evaporative fuel passage communicating at one end to an upper space in a fuel tank is connected at the other end to a refueling line at a location corresponding to a negative pressure introducing hole provided in a lower portion of a tip end of a nozzle during refueling by a refueling nozzle which is constructed so that the refueling by the refueling nozzle is automatically stopped in response to a fuel liquid level reaching the negative pressure introducing hole during refueling. The draft resistance of an evaporative fuel passage interconnecting an inlet of the refueling line and a tank body is set larger than the draft resistance of an evaporative fuel passage interconnecting the tank body and a canister. Thus, the releasing of evaporative fuel from the fuel tank during refueling is effectively inhibited without use of a potentially unreliable seal.

    摘要: A refueling pipe structure of a fuel tank includes a tank body, and an a refueling pipe which is connected to the tank body to extend upwardly therefrom. The refueling pipe is provided at its upper end with a refueling port into which a refueling nozzle can be inserted. The structure includes a flow direction limiting device mounted within the refueling pipe in the vicinity of the refueling port for guiding a fuel flow from a tip end of the refueling nozzle toward an inner surface of the refueling pipe, while limiting the fuel flow in a gyrate direction along the inner surface of the refueling pipe. Thus, the generation of evaporated fuel within the refueling pipe during refueling can be inhibited, and fuel can be smoothly introduced into the tank body.

A second valve is arranged across the second passage to inhibit air from flowing into the canister through the second passage and allow air containing evaporative fuel to be discharged from the canister through the second passage. A filter is arranged in the first passage.

    摘要: A fuel tank for an automotive vehicle has a tank body for storing fuel. A filler pipe is connected to the tank body. A fuel outlet port device is located within the tank body and connected to an end of the filler pipe. The fuel outlet port device has an outwardly facing fuel outlet opening from which fuel supplied through the filler pipe flows out into the body, and a fuel trap for storing part of the fuel supplied through the filler pipe to thereby prevent evaporative fuel generated within the tank body from flowing into the filler pipe. An evaporative emission control system is also provided, which incorporates the fuel tank.

    摘要: In an evaporative fuel processing device, a canister is divided into first, second, third and fourth chambers by partition walls. A control valve is provided in a communication passage which connects the second and third chambers to each other. A first charge passage is connected to an upper space in a fuel tank and to a port in the third chamber, and a second charge passage is connected to a fuel supply valve for the fuel tank and to a port in the first chamber. Further, a purge passage is connected to an intake passage of an internal combustion engine and to a port in the first chamber. The control valve is connected to an electronic control unit, and opened during refueling and during traveling of a vehicle and closed during parking of the vehicle. Thus, it is possible to reliably prevent an evaporative fuel from being released to the atmosphere, while the capacity of the canister to a minimum.

    摘要: A canister is comprised of a casing including a top wall, a vertical wall, first and second chambers formed in the casing and each accommodating an adsorbent, and a partition member partitioning the first and second chambers from each other. A plurality of first protuberances are formed on the inner surface of the top wall at a portion thereof facing toward the first chamber, and a plurality of second protuberances on the inner surface of the vertical wall at a portion thereof facing toward the first chamber. First and second filters are mounted in the first chamber in a fashion abutting on the plurality of the first and second protuberances, respectively. A first space is defined in the top wall between the first filter and the portion of the inner surface of the top wall, and a second space is defined in the vertical wall between the second filter and the portion of the inner surface of the vertical surface and communicates with the first space. A charging port and a purging port are each formed in the top wall at a location corresponding to the first chamber and each open into the first space.
