Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for ensuring that a User Equipment (“UE”) is provided an opportunity to scan for available cells in a wireless network in a manner that allows the UE to detect cells according to a particular radio frequency (“RF”) band. When receiving a measurement report from the UE that does not include cells implementing the particular RF band, a timer may be initiated during which subsequent measurement reports may be received from the UE. If a subsequent measurement from the UE includes a cell corresponding to the particular RF band, the UE may be instructed to connect to such a cell. Otherwise, the UE may be instructed to connect to another cell that does not implement the particular RF band.

Abstract: A user device provides, to a network, information associated with the user device, and receives, from the network, a multi-bit network indication that indicates access technologies, services, and network capabilities provided by the network. The user device determines whether the user device is in a home network or a visited network based on the multi-bit network indication. The user device passes bits of the multi-bit network indication to an upper layer when the user device is in the home network or passes a portion of the bits of the multi-bit network indication to the upper layer when the user device is in the visited network. The user device receives a selection of one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities, and receives, from the network, the one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities for the user device based on the selection.

Abstract: A device described herein may receive an indication that the device is not authorized to access a first type of core network (e.g., a Fifth Generation (“5G”) Core (“5GC”)), and may detect that a first core network, of the first type of core network, is available for communication. The device may detect that a second core network, of a second type of core network (e.g., an Evolved Packet Core (“EPC”)), is available for communication. Based on the indication that the device is not authorized to access the first type of core network, the device may request establishment of a communication session with the second core network (e.g., in lieu of requesting access the first core network).

Abstract: A method, a system, and a non-transitory storage medium are described which provide for generating, by a wireless station of a multi-radio access technology (RAT) radio access network (RAN) that includes a new radio (NR) RAN and a RAN of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, a non-system information block (SIB) message that includes cell reselection priority information and NR stand-alone (SA) neighboring cell information, wherein an order of priority configures an end device attached to the LTE RAN to reselect to a first radio frequency (RF) channel of a first NR SA neighboring cell; and broadcasting the non-SIB message to the end device.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which beam configuration management service is provided. A network device of a wireless access network provides the service that includes identifying redundant configurations across carriers associated with a cell group, and links the common beam configurations to these carriers. The service also includes identifying any difference in beam configurations relative to the common beam configurations for a carrier. The service may transmit this beam configuration information in a control plane message to an end device. The end device may use the beam configuration information.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein bring a 5G standalone-capable end device back into 5G service to leverage the 5G network's data capacity as soon as a VoLTE call is over. A network device receives a fallback connection, for a 5G New Radio (NR) standalone-capable end device, from a second network to the first network to support a voice call on the end device, wherein the fallback connection supports a voice-over-LTE call. The network device detects an end of the VoLTE call and initiates, in response to the detecting, a handover of the end device back to the second network, wherein the initiating occurs while the end device is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode.

If the determined network-permitted TDD uplink duty cycle is greater than a maximum allowable TDD uplink duty cycle for the device, when the device performs TDD uplink transmission after receiving a scheduling grant from the wireless station, the device may decrease the TDD uplink duty cycle of the device or may decrease a time-average transmission power of the device.
