Abstract:
A device may be configured to receive network information for connecting to a wireless network that is provided by a network device. The device may store the network information. The device may detect a wireless device based on radio frequency identification (RFID) communication. The device may transmit the network information to the wireless device via the RFID communication. The device may cause the wireless device to connect to the wireless network provided by the network device and set up the wireless device using the wireless network.
Abstract:
An exemplary method includes a digital video recording (“DVR”) data exchange system 1) maintaining first porting configuration data associated with a first DVR service system and second porting configuration data associated with a second DVR service system, 2) receiving a request to port DVR data from a first DVR system associated with the first DVR service system to a second DVR system associated with the second DVR service system, and 3) in response to the request, accessing a first DVR data set associated with the first DVR system, generating, in accordance with the first porting configuration data and the second porting configuration data, a second DVR data set based on the first DVR data set, and providing the second DVR data set as output. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A device may receive and store first device information (first information), associated with a media client device (media client), and a first security key (a first key) from a content provider network (CPN); and may receive a provisioning request from the media client, including second device information (second information), based on the media client detecting an absence of a physical network connection to receive media content. The device may compare the first information and the second information and may request a second security key (a second key) based on the first information matching the second information. The device may receive the second key from the media client and may compare the first key and the second key. The device may enable the media client to establish a secure connection to the CPN, via a network associated with the device, based on the first key matching the second key.
Abstract:
An exemplary method includes a media content asset recovery system 1) detecting a migration of a user account from being associated with a first DVR system to being associated with a second DVR system, 2) identifying, in response to the detecting, a media content asset included within a library of one or more media content assets stored by the first DVR system at a time associated with the migration, 3) selecting, in accordance with a source selection heuristic, a media content source other than the first DVR system and that is configured to distribute the media content asset, and 4) directing the second DVR system to acquire the media content asset from the selected media content source for storage by the second DVR system.
Abstract:
An exemplary method includes a digital video recording (“DVR”) data migration management system 1) receiving a request for a user account to migrate from being associated with a first DVR system to being associated with a second DVR system, 2) accessing a first DVR data set associated with the first DVR system and separate from data representative of a library of one or more media content assets stored by the first DVR system, 3) generating a second DVR data set based on the first DVR data set and in accordance with one or more attributes of the second DVR system, and 4) associating the second DVR data set with the second DVR system. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A system receives one or more content streams for a program including a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Live Streaming (HLS) master manifest file for the program, HLS media segments having different bitrate variants, and HLS media manifest files for each of the different bitrate variants. The system encapsulates the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files into Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (IP/UDP) packets and sends the IP/UDP packets via multicast to video serving offices. Network devices in the video serving offices extract from the IP/UDP packets the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files. The network devices send to a cache device the HLS media segments and the HLS media manifest files; and forward the IP/UDP packets via multicast to devices in customer premises.
Abstract:
A device may be configured to communicate with a mobile device using a short range communication protocol. The device may open a port based on communicating with the mobile device using the short range communication protocol. The device may receive a request from the mobile device via the port. The request may request security information for setting up a secure connection. The device may provide the security information to the mobile device. The device may establish a secure connection with the mobile device based on the security information. The device may provision the mobile device to receive media content from the device based on the secure connection. The device may provide the media content to the mobile device based on provisioning the mobile device.

Abstract:
A user device may receive information identifying one or more first audio programs available for programming content; select a first particular audio program, of the one or more first audio programs; play the first particular audio program; and receive updated information identifying one or more second audio programs available for the programming content when available audio programs change. The one or more second audio programs may be different from the one or more first audio programs. The user device may select, without user interaction, a second particular audio program, of the one or more second audio programs; and play the second particular audio program.
