An arrangement for applying a tissue adhesive based on human or animal proteins, to seamlessly or seam-supportingly connect human or animal tissue or organ parts by uniting with blood-clot-promoting coagulation factors (thrombin). The arrangement includes a plurality of syringe bodies commonly actuatable by pistons and to which a connecting head is attachable. The syringe bodies have equal effective strokes, yet one of them, i.e., that destined to contain the protein solution, has a cross sectional area that is two to nine times larger than the other one(s). There may be applied tissue adhesives having a fibrinogen content of from 2 to 12%.

A flexible polymeric container for holding albumin. The container is made of a sheet of flexible polymeric film formed into a bag having a cavity enclosed by a first wall, an opposing second wall, and seals about a periphery of the first and second walls. The seals join an interior portion of the opposing first and second walls and create a fluid-tight chamber within the cavity of the container for storing a concentration of the albumin. A method of packaging the albumin protein into a flexible polymeric container is also provided. Therein a flexible polymeric material is converted into bags, the bags are filled with a quantity of albumin by a filler, and a seal area of the bags is sealed to enclose the albumin within the bag.

There is disclosed an arrangement for applying a tissue adhesive based on human or animal proteins to seamlessly or seam-supportingly connect human or animal tissue or organ parts, to seal wounds, stop bleedings and the like. The tissue adhesive is formed in situ by combining solutions of the proteins and of blood-clot-promoting coagulation factors. The arrangement includes a plurality of containers ending in joining pieces for accommodating the components to be applied. A connecting head is attachable to the joining pieces of the containers, which includes a separate conveying channel for each of the components to be applied. In order to design an arrangement of the above defined kind to be troublefree and to render it usable even for hardly accessible application sites, without requiring an exchange of parts of the arrangement at an interruption of the component flow, and to be able to use it with and without the help of an endoscope, the connecting head includes an additional conveying channel for a medicinal gas. This channel leads to the front side of the connecting head parallel and closely adjacent the remaining conveying channels. The connecting head is continued in either a multi-lumen catheter containing a gas-conveying channel or in a mixing needle.

There is disclosed a syringe assembly for the storage and application of a biological multi-component material. Its assembly parts are a syringe device including several parallel syringe bodies interconnected by a connection part, which syringe bodies are filled with the individual components of the multi-component material, include coni and are closed by pistons; an actuation device for this syringe device, which includes piston rods associated with the pistons and a common grip element; and a dispensing element to be attached to the coni of the syringe bodies. The filled syringe bodies, which are closed by separate piston plugs, constitute a one-piece syringe unit with the connection part. The connection part leaves a recess between the syringe bodies on one of the ends of the syringe unit for receiving a protection means shielding off the other syringe body/ies when filling the syringe bodies. The grip element is connected in one piece with the piston rods, thereby forming a one-piece piston rod unit separate from the syringe unit including the piston plugs.
