Abstract: According to a first aspect, there is provided an adaptive cooking device that includes: a cooking chamber configured to receive a food product, an antenna assembly, an RF power source, a sensor assembly coupled to the cooking chamber and comprising a plurality of sensors, each sensor configured to obtain a measurement characterizing a cooking process in real-time, and one or more sensors of the plurality of sensors configured to obtain a different type of the measurement, and a controller coupled to the antenna assembly, the sensor assembly, and the RF power source, wherein the controller is configured to: receive the measurement characterizing the cooking process from the sensor assembly, process the measurement to determine a modified cooking process, and operate the antenna assembly and the RF power source in accordance with the modified cooking process in real-time.

In one aspect, a method comprises: presenting, to a user and through a display, a representation of a synaptic connectivity graph representing synaptic connectivity between neurons in a brain of a biological organism; receiving, from the user, data specifying a seed neuron in the brain; identifying a neuroanatomical tract corresponding to the seed neuron in the brain; and presenting, to the user and through the display, a geometric representation of at least a portion of the brain of the biological organism that visually distinguishes the neuroanatomical tract corresponding to the seed neuron at neuronal resolution.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an archipelago model is provided for distributed execution of evolutionary computing techniques. In some embodiments, an archipelago manager computing device manages a centralized archipelago management queue, and provides population subsets to a plurality of island computing devices. The archipelago manager computing device receives candidate solutions from the island computing devices, stores the candidate solutions in the archipelago management queue, and transmits candidate solutions from the archipelago management queue to the island computing devices in order to exchange candidate solutions between the island computing devices. The use of an archipelago management queue allows transfer of candidate solutions between different island computing devices, is robust to failure of any given island computing device, and does not require homogeneity within the plurality of island computing devices.
