摘要： A multimedia contents random access method for a wireless communication system is provided. The live content access method of a client in a wireless communication system according to the present invention includes receiving a request for playing a content, receiving content structure information on the content from a content transfer server, receiving content segments and random access informations of the content segments from a content provision server using the content structure information, and performing, when a random access request is received, random access to the content segments using the random access information. The content random access method of the present invention is capable of accessing the content in unit of content segment such that it is possible to access a past time point in the content even before all of the content segments are received completely.

摘要： A method and apparatus for playing back recorded content in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The method of playing back recorded content for a client includes: accepting a playback request for recorded content; selecting a first bit rate of a content segment forming the streaming content at the time of playback request; comparing a second bit rate of a content segment forming the recorded content with the selected first bit rate; and playing back one of the content segment forming the recorded content and a corresponding content segment received from a server according to comparison results. Hence, the user may play back recorded content in better quality through comparing the bit rate of a recorded content segment with the optimal bit rate of the corresponding content segment in consideration of network and client conditions at the time of playback request.

摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving multi-format digital broadcasts are disclosed. The method of transmitting multi-format digital broadcasts, includes creating digital broadcast services having different formats and electronic service guides (ESG) associated with the digital broadcast services; creating entry information for accessing the ESGs; and transmitting the digital broadcast services, the ESGs, and the entry information. The same broadcast services may be provided in multiple formats, and a broadcast receiver may selectively receive a broadcast service having a supportable format. Hence, it is possible to enhance effectiveness in reception of a digital broadcast service.
