摘要： A fabric or lattice for locating a damage, including a puncture, includes one or more layers and a continuity tester. Each of the layers includes conductive filaments and insulating filaments. The conductive filaments are spaced apart within each layer of the fabric. The insulating filaments are distributed across the conductive filaments within each layer of the fabric. The insulating filaments adhere the conductive filaments together to form each layer of the fabric, yet separate the conductive filaments and electrically insulate the conductive filaments from each other. The continuity tester checks for an electrical continuity through each of the conductive filaments of each of the layers. The continuity tester identifies any one or ones of the conductive filaments exhibiting a loss of the electrical continuity due to the damage.

摘要： One can enrich nucleic acid (RNA or DNA) from within a complex mixture in a sequence-specific manner by using a mutant of a Cas enzyme lacking nuclease activity, for example a mutant of Cas13a (dCas) from Leptotrichia wadeii. The nucleic acid is bound by the mutant protein as directed by guide RNA molecules (crRNA) and purified after association with an appropriate surface, such as quantum dots or functionalized beads. The nucleic acid is separated from the Cas and purified after precipitation or interaction with another surface. The resulting product can be directly processed via long-read sequencing.

摘要： A twistless cable deployment apparatus is provided for deploying cable. The apparatus includes a level winder that can be joined to a winch. The level winder is in a fixed position relative to the cable winch. The level winder has a non-rotating fixed spool that stores the cable by wrapping the cable around the spool. A rotating base is disposed coaxially with the fixed spool and rotates around the axis of the fixed spool. A post is mounted on the rotating base, and a traveler is slidably mounted on the post. A traveling guide eye is joined to the traveler. By rotation of the rotating base, cable is deployed from the fixed spool. A primary guide eye can guide the cable to the winch.

摘要： An exemplary inventive freeboard detection system includes a tubular watertight temperature-sensing device and a computer. The temperature-sensing device includes a printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), a potting compound, and a hollow rigid tube. Inside the tube the potting compound encapsulates the PCBA, which includes a printed circuit board (PCB) and multiple temperature sensors closely and equidistantly arrayed along the length of the tube. The temperature-sensing device is vertically secured in a partially submerged state to a vessel with the expectation that some of the vertically arrayed temperature sensors will sense air temperature and others will sense water temperature. On an ongoing basis, the computer receives signals from the temperature sensors and processes the signals to monitor freeboard values, which the computer calculates based on differences in temperature measurements corresponding to pairs of consecutive (and/or nonconsecutive) temperature sensors. A maximum calculated difference in temperature measurements is indicative of the location of the water surface.

摘要： A method for network infrastructure assessment is provided. An assessor tool portion is replicated on a network origination node. A plurality of authentication keys associated with a root authentication key are generated. Network nodes are recursively enumerated by the assessor tool. In the recursion, information on the parent node is enumerated and reported to a controller of the network; the parent node is marked as enumerated; child nodes connected to the parent node are detected; at least a portion of the assessor tool is replicated on a child node that is not enumerated but has a valid assigned authentication key; and recursion is continued with the child node as the parent node. The reported information is processed to produce a network infrastructure assessment.
