摘要： A hair styling system for use with a forced air electric hair dryer constitutes a coupler having a tubular section for receiving the end of an electric hair dryer. This section supports a smaller axially aligned concentric tubular section, with the two sections attached to one another by angularly disposed spacers. Apertures between the spacers permit air to flow over the outside of the smaller tubular section of the coupler. The unattached end of the smaller tubular section extends beyond the larger section and is tapered inwardly toward its central axis. Additional parts of the system include elongated hollow tubular bodies which are closed at one end and open at the other. The open end has an outwardly flared nozzle receiving flange for fitting over the tapered nozzle from the smaller tubular section of the coupler. The tubular bodies have spaced apertures through them at predetermined intervals along their length and about their periphery. Some tubular bodies have a number of spaced circular tapered fins extending radially outwardly from the body. Others of the tubular bodies have an elongated tapered helical fin extending radially outwardly from the bodies along the length.

摘要： According to the process for applying reshaping to hair by use of a hair-curler, the hair-curler (1) is arranged in such a way that the perimeter along which the lock of hair (M) is rolled increases by approx. 2 to 3% when its temperature rises to pass from a starting temperature to a higher temperature which nevertheless remains lower than a relatively low limit thus avoiding the burning of the hair and/or of the scalp; the longitudinal section of the curler is sufficient to withstand the stresses imposed by elongation of the lock of hair; the lock of hair is rolled around the curler at the starting temperature so that the hair is retained against the hair-curler; the curler is raised to the said higher temperature; the hair is thus subjected to elongation ensuring an increase in the life of the reshaping applied to the hair.

摘要： A method of setting hair in which curlers are placed in a steam chest until they reach their maximum effective moisture content at an elevated temperature. Then the curlers are removed from the steam chest, and a strand of hair is wrapped around the moist exterior of the curler. The preferred temperature at the time of wrapping is in the range of 150* F. to 190* F. The preferred curling time is at least 2 minutes.

The holding clamp 1 has a pressure spring device 12 between both hooks 6, 7; the pressure spring device induces a spring force F to at least a portion of a jacket area 13 of the curler 2. At least one injection molded leaf spring 14 is provided as a pressure spring device 12. In doing so, the leaf spring 14 is distorted so that it can be placed at the contours of the jacket area 13 with a gentle amount of pressure thus preventing the distortion of the rolled up strand of hair 3 (FIG. 4).

摘要： A hair curler having a spool for receiving a lock of human hair for wrapping thereabout a core disposed between a rim of the spool and a clip having a first portion and a second portion joined together by a hinge, for clamping the spool and the lock of human hair together for producing a curl in the lock of human hair is disclosed. The spool and the clip of the hair curler, in combination, produces a curl in the lock of human hair when the clip is placed on, and releasably secured to the spool with the lock of human hair sandwiched therebetween the spool and the clip without the clip directly contacting the lock of human hair. The first portion and the second portion of the clip are pivotally connected together by a hinge. The first portion and the second portion being biased toward each other when in use by fabricating the clip from a flexible material which inherently allows the material to flex and to bow when the first portion and the second portion of the clip are gently urged toward each other. For releasably retaining the first portion and the second portion of the clip in engagement with each other a keeper is formed on the first portion where an apex of the second portion releasably engages the keeper. To make the invention even more useful, for aligning the clip onto the spool, the addition of a guide is disposed on the first portion of the clip about midway along a length of the first portion for engaging the spool having a bore centrally disposed therethrough so that the clip may be aligned on the spool by human feel when the guide is seated in the bore of the spool.

The outer surface is free of projections or depressions exceeding 0.010 inches in height or depth. The outer surface of the tubular body is formed of a resilient, elastomeric, compressible, and non-porous material having a Shore durometer A hardness of between about 20 and about 65. The outer surface also has a static coefficient of friction greater than about 50, measured at ambient temperature against dry hardwood on the James machine in accordance with ANSI/ASTM F 489-77, whereby hair will readily grip the outer surface to facilitate winding hair about the hair roller.
