摘要： A drug delivery device (1) includes a delivery unit, an electronic control system and a plunger sensing system (70). The delivery unit (3) includes a drug container (6) comprising a barrel portion (6a) and a plunger (12) slidably mounted within the barrel portion and sealing against an inner surface of the barrel portion (6a) for containing a liquid drug (78) within the drug container. The plunger sensing system (70) includes an optical sensor (71) with a transmitter (71a) and a receiver (71b), the transmitter configured for transmitting an optical signal to a back end (73) of the plunger (12) and the receiver configured to receive the optical signal reflected off the plunger back end (73). The plunger sensing system is connected to the electronic control system (47) configured to measure a time of flight of the optical signal from the transmitter to the receiver and to determine therefrom a position of the plunger within the cylinder portion of the drug container.

摘要： A plunger for use with a syringe has a plunger body with a proximal end, a distal end, and a circumferential sidewall extending between the proximal end and the distal end along a plunger longitudinal axis. The plunger further has at least one resiliently deflectable retaining member having a first segment attached to the plunger body and a second segment protruding toward the distal end of the plunger body and deflectable relative to the first segment. The plunger further has at least one actuation member associated with the at least one resiliently deflectable retaining member. The at least one actuation member interacts with a piston to deflect the at least one resiliently deflectable retaining member upon rotation of the plunger relative to the piston. The plunger is engageable with the piston regardless of a rotational orientation of the piston relative to the plunger.

摘要： A pressure jacket for use with a fluid injector includes a barrel having a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall extending between the distal end and the proximal end along a longitudinal axis. The pressure jacket includes at least one engagement member protruding from a terminal portion of the proximal end of the barrel in a proximal direction along the longitudinal axis. The at least one engagement member tapers axially in a direction from the distal end toward the proximal end of the barrel. The at least one engagement member engages with a locking mechanism on the fluid injector to releasably lock the pressure jacket with the fluid injector. A taper of the at least one engagement member rotationally guides the barrel into self-alignment with the locking mechanism and axially ejects the barrel upon rotation of the barrel about the longitudinal axis.
