摘要: The invention described herein generally pertains to a system and method related to adjusting at least one of an arc current for a welding operation, an arc voltage for a welding operation, a wire feed speed for a welding operation, or a height of a torch that performs the welding operation. In particular, a parameter can be updated based upon, for instance, a user input, and the arc current, arc voltage, wire feed speed, or the height of the torch can be calibrated to perform the welding operation. Specifically, while a parameter is being adjusted or transitioned to the setting received via user input, the height of the torch and/or at least one of the arc current level, the arc voltage, the wire feed speed is maintained until the setting is achieved for the parameter. Once the parameter is at the setting, a second arc current level, a second arc voltage, a second wire feed speed, or second height for the torch is implemented to perform the welding operation.

摘要: A welding control method alternately repeats a short circuit period, during which a welding wire and an object to be welded short-circuit, and an arc period, during which an arc is generated and discharged, to weld the object to be welded. The method compares average output voltage, which is an average of welding voltage calculated during welding, to set voltage preliminarily set, and controls a welding output current produced when an arc is generated based on the comparison result therefrom, to regulate the meltage of the wire for adjusting the arc length, which brings the short circuit cycle closer to a constant one when a disturbance (e.g. extended or shortened arc length) occurs.

摘要: An apparatus and method for feeding welding wire, where the apparatus contains a wire feeding device which pays out a wire and a power source which provides a current and voltage to the wire while it is being paid out. The apparatus further includes a detection circuit which detects a short circuit in the wire when the wire makes contact with a work piece or the like, and upon detection of the short circuit the wire feeding device stops feeding the wire so that a desired stick out distance is achieved.

摘要: If a short circuit does not occur during deceleration of a wire feed speed in forward feed of a welding wire before the wire feed speed reaches a predetermined wire feed speed, a cyclic change is stopped and the wire feed speed is constantly controlled at the first feed speed. If a short circuit occurs during forward feed at the first feed speed, deceleration from the first feed speed starts, and the cyclic change is resumed for welding. This achieves uniform weld bead without increasing spatters even if any external disturbance such as change of distance between a tip and base material occurs.

摘要: A method and apparatus for providing welding-type power include a wire feeder that provides wire to an arc and a power supply that provides power to the arc. A reversible wire feed motor moves the wire to and away from the arc. A controller controls the reversible wire feeder motor to reverse at least once per process cycle, and/or controls the power source to provide a desired mean arc current, and/or controls the reversible motor in response to short detection and short clearing, and/or controls the reversal frequency in response to pool oscillation frequency. A wire feed motor output is slaved to an average of the reversible motor output. The controller may include various control modules, such as a mean arc current control module, and/or a short detection feedback circuit. The reversible motor is a stepper motor, that incrementally turns in a series of steps having a given angle in another embodiment. The controller includes a step size output and the given angle is varied in response to the step size output.

摘要: A control method for arc welding wherein position control of an electrode or a torch is performed while adjusting welding conditions on the basis of optical information obtained from arc light generated during an arc welding process. Illuminance, which forms the optical information obtained from the arc light, has a certain mutual relationship with the arc length or the torch height, so that the weld control is accomplished based on the illuminance. The control method includes a step of comparing illuminance with reference information based on the mutual relationship, and a step of adjusting the welding conditions on the basis of a result of comparison.
