摘要: Disclosed welding-type systems and methods are directed to employing a wire feeder for feeding an electrode wire from a wire source in a welding system. The wire feeder includes one or more drive rolls to advance the electrode wire by contact force. In disclosed examples, a contact force on the wire from the drive rolls is adjustable. In some examples, the system includes a controller to receive a feedback signal corresponding to the contact force. The controller commands an actuator or other mechanism to adjust the contact force on the wire, such as by adjusting a position of the one or more drive rolls in response to the contact force falling outside a range of threshold contact force values.

摘要: Systems and methods for cleaning a wire electrode after a welding process has ended are described. During a welding process, a wire electrode may be fed forward from a wire feeder through a welding torch to create a molten weld pool. While, conventionally, feeding of the wire electrode stops when the welding process ends, the present disclosure contemplates instead continuing to feed the wire electrode forward after the welding process ends. More particularly, the present disclosure contemplates feeding the wire electrode into the weld pool so that the wire electrode can be “cleaned” in the molten weld pool created by the welding process. The “cleaned” wire electrode end can be more easily used to establish an electrical arc at the beginning of the next welding process.

摘要: A welding-type system includes a power supply configured to control preheating of an electrode wire. A controller is configured to receive a plurality of power values corresponding to a power output of the power supply and calculate an arc power value corresponding to an arc condition at the preheated electrode wire based on a rate of change of the plurality of power values. A target power output value is determined based on the calculated arc power value, and the power output is adjusted based on the determined target power value.

摘要: A weaving control method in fillet welding. On a surface perpendicular to a welding direction, a position of the welding torch is set such that a weaving reference line passes through a base point on a weld line, and at least five fixed end points are set, and positions of the fixed end points are set such that one or more of the fixed end points are provided on each of both sides across the weaving reference line and a reference end point a being on the weaving reference line and having the shortest distance between a tip and a base metal is provided. The weaving operation is performed such that the welding torch moves between the fixed end points along with a trajectory forming a polygon when viewed from the welding direction.

摘要: A method includes monitoring a submerged arc welding (SAW) operation in real-time; determining, based on the monitoring and in real-time, a discrepancy between a desired weld parameter and an actual weld parameter of a weld resulting from the SAW operation; and in response to determining the discrepancy, controlling a power supply, which provides power for the SAW operation, to modify at least one of balance or offset of an alternating current (AC) welding power signal supplied for the SAW operation to compensate for the discrepancy.

摘要: A system for controlling multiple wire feed motors for use in a welding-type system including a push motor controlled to operate at a target wire feed speed and a pull motor disposed in a welding torch controlled to apply a target torque to the fed welding wire. Such a system eliminates shaving and bird nesting of welding wire.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed relating to welding-type systems that automatically detect when a wire spool is emptied of welding wire. This may help to alert an operator to an issue that might negatively impact the welding-type operation. Additionally, the systems detect when the wire spool is emptied of welding wire using wire feeder parameters that are already relied upon for control and/or protection of the wire feeder, thereby omitting the need for extra (and/or expensive) components.

摘要: In order to easily regulate the supply of welding wire to the welding point during a welding process, the electrical potential produced by the welding current around the electrode is tapped with the welding wire and the control of the welding wire feed speed is carried out on the basis of the tapped potential and this control results in an average welding wire feed speed being established.
