摘要: Systems and methods for cleaning a wire electrode after a welding process has ended are described. During a welding process, a wire electrode may be fed forward from a wire feeder through a welding torch to create a molten weld pool. While, conventionally, feeding of the wire electrode stops when the welding process ends, the present disclosure contemplates instead continuing to feed the wire electrode forward after the welding process ends. More particularly, the present disclosure contemplates feeding the wire electrode into the weld pool so that the wire electrode can be “cleaned” in the molten weld pool created by the welding process. The “cleaned” wire electrode end can be more easily used to establish an electrical arc at the beginning of the next welding process.

摘要: A weaving control method in fillet welding. On a surface perpendicular to a welding direction, a position of the welding torch is set such that a weaving reference line passes through a base point on a weld line, and at least five fixed end points are set, and positions of the fixed end points are set such that one or more of the fixed end points are provided on each of both sides across the weaving reference line and a reference end point a being on the weaving reference line and having the shortest distance between a tip and a base metal is provided. The weaving operation is performed such that the welding torch moves between the fixed end points along with a trajectory forming a polygon when viewed from the welding direction.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed relating to welding-type systems that automatically detect when a wire spool is emptied of welding wire. This may help to alert an operator to an issue that might negatively impact the welding-type operation. Additionally, the systems detect when the wire spool is emptied of welding wire using wire feeder parameters that are already relied upon for control and/or protection of the wire feeder, thereby omitting the need for extra (and/or expensive) components.
