    摘要: Disclosed are monolithic optical systems using an aerogel molded around a mandrel. A method of manufacturing an optical system includes applying a reflective coating to at least a portion of a surface of a mandrel, placing the mandrel in a tank and subsequently filling the tank with aerogel to a predetermined depth below a top of the mandrel. The method includes adding a separation layer to the tank on top of the aerogel at the predetermined depth, catalyzing the separation layer into a solid, and adding aerogel on top of the separation layer filling the tank with aerogel above a height of the mandrel, and removing the aerogel and mandrel from the tank, drying the aerogel into a solid aerogel structure, catalyzing the reflective coating to bond the reflective coating with the aerogel, and removing the mandrel from the aerogel structure to produce the aerogel structure having a hollowed-out interior.

    摘要: The structure of the present invention majorly includes: an outer shell body; at least one connection portion; and an optical projection system set inside the outer shell body. The optical projection system includes: an imaging unit; a reflector; a reflective curved mirror; and at least one optical lens; wherein the imaging unit projects the predefined image and incidents on the reflective curved mirror after being reflected by the reflector to adjust the imaging path and correct the aberration. And, the optical lens will magnify the predefined image in the imaging path to make the predefined image reflected to the user's eyes through the windshield to form the virtual image of the predefined image refracted outside the windshield. The present invention can realize the triangle imaging principle in a smaller space, enlarge the imaging range, reduce the aberration problem, and simply set outside the dashboard through the outer shell body.

    摘要: A method of forming a mirror reflector sub-assembly suitable for use in an exterior rearview mirror assembly of a vehicle includes providing a glass substrate having a first surface and a second surface. Glass is physically removed from a portion of the second surface of the glass substrate to form a curved recess locally thereat. The second surface of the glass substrate is coated with a mirror reflector via a vacuum deposition process. When used in an automotive exterior rearview mirror assembly, the mirror reflective element provides a principal reflector portion and an auxiliary reflector portion to a driver of the vehicle who views the mirror reflective element when normally operating the vehicle. A mirror back plate is formed in a plastic molding operation and a heater pad is disposed between the coated second surface of the glass substrate and a first side of the mirror back plate.

    摘要: A mirror reflector sub-assembly for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element having a glass substrate. A principal reflector portion has a first radius of curvature and an auxiliary reflector portion includes a curved recess having a second radius of curvature smaller than the first radius of curvature. The curved recess is established at the second surface of the glass substrate by physical removal of glass from a portion of the substrate. The mirror reflective element is supported at a side of a mirror back plate and an opposing side of the mirror back plate is adapted for attaching the mirror back plate to a mirror actuator of an exterior rearview mirror assembly equipped with the mirror reflector sub-assembly. A heater pad is disposed at the second surface of the glass substrate between the mirror reflective element and the mirror back plate.
