摘要： A system and process for aligning printed images on a rolled product with perforation lines being formed into the product is disclosed. According to the process, the position of printed images are sensed as the images are being printed onto a substrate, such as a tissue strip. The images are printed onto the substrate using a printing device including at least one rotating print roller. In order to maintain the printed images in alignment with perforation lines being formed into the substrate, the speed of the print roller is adjusted in order to adjust the length of the printed images.

摘要： A web-fed offset printing press has printing units each comprising a plate cylinder, a blanket cylinder, and an impression cylinder, the impression cylinder being movable into and out of rolling engagement with the blanket cylinder via the web. A first printing unit prints a first image portion on the web at prescribed spacings, by moving the impression cylinder away from the blanket cylinder each time one first image portion is printed. A second printing unit prints a second image portion on the spacings left on the web by the first printing unit, also by moving the impression cylinder away from the blanket cylinder each time one second image portion is printed. A variable speed motor rotates each blanket cylinder, while each time the associated impression cylinder is held away to create a space on the web for causing printing of the first or the second printing portion at required spacings.

摘要： A rotary screen printing machine has a number of cylindrical stencils each with an internal squeegee and at least one stencil has an impermeable area parallel to the center line of the stencil. The squeegee of the said stencil may be raised or lowered while the impermeable area is in contact with the material being printed such that the printing action may be interrupted during one or more revolutions of the stencil during continuous operation of the printing machine. The stencil will print only when the screen portion is in contact with the material and the squeegee is lowered. A pattern can thus be printed which has a repeat length greater than the circumference of a stencil.

摘要： A machine for printing a recurrent pattern on sections of predetermined length of a textile web, comprising a number of parallel rotary-screen printing units spaced apart in the direction of web motion, includes a first sensor for detecting the leading edge of an oncoming web section to be imprinted and a second sensor for ascertaining the passage of a mark indicating the start of a printing pattern on the first unit. The odd-numbered units print the first half of the pattern, in different colors, whereas the even-numbered units print the second half in corresponding colors; between printing operations, the screen of each unit is lifted off the web and can be angularly readjusted to compensate for relative disalignment between the web sections and the printing patterns. Such disalignment is determined by the two sensors whose output signals are translated into command signals sequentially delivered to control inputs of the several odd-numbered units at equal intervals for making the necessary adjustments just before the arrival of the leading edge of a web section at these units; the control inputs of the even-numbered units receive these commands at instants delayed with reference to the midpoints of these intervals so that their adjustments take place after that leading edge has passed them. Where the sections to be imprinted are tufted fabric piles, the first sensor comprises two juxtaposed feelers, one loaded by a hard spring and the other loaded by a soft spring; an oncoming pile edge elevates the latter but not the former to cause completion of a signal circuit discriminating against seams in the web which would cause both feelers to be elevated concurrently.

摘要： A faux bamboo shade is formed from a panel of faux bamboo slats. The faux bamboo slats are elongated, preferably plastic, strips having a front face and a rear face. At least one face of each strip is printed with an array of colors selected and applied to simulate color and texture of a real bamboo slat. These strips may be printed or deformed to simulate a grain pattern and at least one bamboo knot. The plastic strips may also be printed in a manner to simulate a scorch pattern.
