摘要: A transmission arrangement is disclosed which comprises first and second variators (166, 169) each of which comprises an input race (150, 154) and an output race (152, 156). A plurality of rollers (276, 278) is arranged to run upon the input and output races to transfer drive from one to the other. The races are mounted for rotation about a common axis and the inclination of the first variator's rollers is variable independently of the inclination of the second variator's rollers, so that the two rollers are able to provide independently and continuously variable drive ratios. To provide traction between the rollers and races, a biasing device (216, 217) applies an axial force to one of the races, urging the rollers and races into engagement with each other. Each variator is provided with a shunt gear for providing forward, reverse and g eared neutral ratios, and to couple the variator input to the shunt gear a coupling member (160) passes through the outer variator races.

摘要: The present invention is an improved personal tracked vehicle consisting of a platform pivotally mounted on top of a housing, the platform having a right and left side and a central axis. The platform is pivotally movable between a first position wherein the right side of the platform is below the left side of the platform and a second position wherein the left side of the platform is below the right side of the platform. The platform has a forward portion, a rearward portion and middle portion between the two, the middle portion being arched upwardly. The vehicle further includes a pair of parallel right and left tracks mounted to the housing below the platform, the right track being coupled to a right track transmission and the left track being coupled to a left track transmission, the right and left track transmissions both being coupled to a motor for driving the transmissions. The right and left track transmissions are operatively coupled to the platform such that when the platform is pivoted towards its first position, the left track is driven faster and the right track is driven slower, and when the platform is pivoted towards its second position, the right track is driven faster and the left track is driven slower, the platform being biased towards a central position wherein the left and right drives operate at the same speed. The motor of the vehicle is mounted to the housing below the middle portion of the platform and between the tracks.

摘要: A steering system for a skid steered vehicle has a variable-speed steering motor, and an asymmetrical steering differential operatively connected to the steering motor and rotatably mounted on a first side of the chassis separately from the propulsion system. The steering differential has a first differential shaft and a second differential shaft, where the asymmetrical differential imparts a greater speed change on the second differential shaft than the first differential shaft. The first differential shaft is connected to a first steering output shaft operatively connected to at least one ground-engaging element on the first side of the vehicle. A speed reducer mounted fixedly on the chassis connects the second differential shaft to a second steering output shaft operatively connected to at least one ground-engaging element on the second side of the vehicle so that the second steering output shaft experiences the same speed change but in an opposite rotational direction as the first steering output shaft.

摘要: A continuously variable transmission steering mechanism of a tracked vehicle, comprising a differential (1), a right drive shaft (2), a left drive shaft (3), and a continuously variable transmission (4) used for adjusting the rotational speed of the right drive shaft (2) and that of the left drive shaft (3). A left half shaft (5) and a right half shaft (6) are connected on the differential (1). The right half shaft (6) of the differential (1) is linked to the right drive shaft (2). The right drive shaft (2) rotates to drive the right half shaft (6) of the differential (1) to rotate. The left half shaft (5) of the differential (1) is linked to the left drive shaft (3). The left drive shaft (3) rotates to drive the left half shaft (5) of the differential (1) to rotate. The rotational speed ratio of the right half shaft (6) of the differential (1) to the right drive shaft (2) is equal to the rotational speed ratio of the left half shaft (5) of the differential (1) to the left drive shaft (6). The employment of the continuously variable transmission steering mechanism of the tracked vehicle, by means of continuously and precisely adjusting the rotational speeds of the left and right half shafts of the differential via the continuously variable transmission (4), implements precise turning of tracks, thus increasing the safety of the tracked vehicle traveling at a high speed.
