Abstract: A rear mechanism for a work machine includes first and second spring housings operably engaged by one or more springs. The first and second spring housings are assembled with an endcap housing between first and second clutch packs that engage a rear axle of the work machine. A first cavity is formed between the first and second spring housing, and a second cavity is formed between the first housing and the endcap housing. Pressurizing the first cavity compresses the springs and releases a park brake of the work machine to enable front wheel drive of the work machine. While pressurizing the first cavity, the second cavity is pressurized such that the first spring housing compresses the first clutch pack to enable four wheel drive of the work machine.

Abstract: A spring preloaded lockup clutch system comprises clutch disc(s), an input component, and an output component housed in a hydraulic fluid chamber of a torque converter, a lockup piston and a mechanical spring housed in a piston housing of the torque converter, and a relief valve coupled to the hydraulic fluid chamber. The clutch disc(s), when engaged, couples the input component to the output component. The lockup piston has a first end and a second end, engages with the clutch disc(s) when biased, and disengages from the clutch disc(s) when unbiased. The mechanical spring, coupled to the lockup piston at the second end, applies force to bias the lockup piston. The relief valve, when opened, relieves hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic fluid chamber allowing the lockup piston to remain being biased, and, when closed, allows the hydraulic pressure to build up allowing the lockup piston to be unbiased.

Abstract: A method of controlling a transmission includes providing an input, an output, a controller, a control system, a hydrostatic unit, and a geartrain. The geartrain includes a direct drive pivot clutch and a steer drive geartrain. The method also includes receiving a pivot command by the controller from a shift selector, where the command indicates the shift selector is in a pivot position. The method further includes engaging the direct drive pivot clutch, decoupling the hydrostatic unit from a torque path defined between the input and the output, and coupling the input and the output to one another via a second torque path. The second torque path is defined through the direct drive pivot clutch and the steer drive geartrain. The transmission is controllable in a direct drive steer operation.

Abstract: A carrier is provided with a circular plate section, a cylinder section, a planetary gear arrangement section, a first hydraulic fluid flow path, and a second hydraulic fluid flow path. The second hydraulic fluid flow path has a second inlet which is provided in the circular plate section to receive hydraulic fluid to drive the piston.
