A first pair of the long sidewalls are spaced by a first width dimension, a second pair of the long sidewalls are spaced by a second width dimension, the first width dimension is a maximum of six inches, and the second width dimension is between 90.0 and 96.14 percent of the first width dimension.

    摘要： A method and apparatus are shown for securing a top for a cardboard carton where the carton has a bottom wall and integral sidewalls defining an initially open interior and initially open top flaps with outwardly extending ears, the initially open top flaps being integrally formed with a first pair of opposing sidewalls of the carton. The top flaps are folded to a carton closing position which closes off the initially open interior of the cardboard carton. The ears are also folded to a position in contact with a second set of opposing sidewalls of the carton intermediate the first set of opposing sidewalls. A set of rotatable punches are aligned with the folded ears of the carton and rotated to force a first layer of cardboard from a respective top flap through an associated second layer of an underlying sidewall of the carton. A set of platens are located so as to underlie and reinforce the sidewalls of the carton as the punching operation takes place.

    摘要： A display container is provided herein which includes a box portion having a base portion, spaced-apart upstanding first and second end panels, and spaced-apart upstanding first and second edge panels extending from the base portion. The first and second edge panels are located between the first and second end panels, and the first edge panel extends a lesser distance from the base portion than the first end panel and the second end panel. The display container also includes a reinforcing layer which may be formed of a material stronger in shear than the material of the box portion. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a display container may be formed which has greater strength both for product containment and stacking as compared to the prior art.

    摘要： A product configuration is provided for the packaging of non-mixed beverages and dispensing configuration for mixing of a base beverage and mix beverage into a preferred single-serve mixed drink. The product configuration, called a multi-beverage packaging configuration includes a plurality of base beverage containers, containing a first beverage which may be carbonated, with one or more mix beverage containers, containing one or more mix beverage-for separate consumption or mixing, and one or more volumetric dispensers. The volume of the mix beverage is proportionally divisible by the number of base beverage containers in the product configuration and the division of which is equal to the volume of the volumetric dispenser. The ratio of mix beverage to base beverage in the mixed drink is dependent on the number of base beverage containers in the product configuration, and on the volume of the volumetric dispenser.
