    摘要: Method for polymerizing an alpha-olefin or copolymerizing an alpha-olefin with another olefin in the presence of a catalyst obtained by subjecting to a first reaction, a halogenide of trivalent metal together with at least one kind of compound selected from the group consisting of halogenide hydrates, sulfide hydrates, sulfate hydrates, hydroxides and hydroxide hydrates of metals belonging to the I-VIII groups of the periodical table so as to form active groups on the surface, then reacting the resultant first reaction product with a transition metal compound and further combining the resultant second reaction product thus obtained with an organoaluminum compound. The above-mentioned second reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of an aromatic solvent. As the above-mentioned compounds of metals of the I-VIII groups, the hydroxides of the II group, particularly magnesium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide, are preferably selected. In this case, the above-mentioned first and second reactions are both carried out at a temperature of 110*C or below. The above-mentioned polymerization or copolymerization in the presence of the above-mentioned catalyst is preferably carried out in the presence of a titanium alkoxide and hydrogen in an amount more than 10% and less than 80% by volume based upon the total amount of ethylene and hydrogen.

    摘要: There are disclosed new catalysts for the polymerization of olefins and which comprise the products of reaction between organometallic compounds or hydrides of metals of Groups I, II or III of the Mendelyeev Periodic Table and the product obtained by reacting a liquid halogenated compound of titanium or vanadium with a solid carrier containing chemically uncombined water and having the formula Mg O. (Mg(OH)2)x. (H2O)y, WHEREIN X IS A NUMBER GREATER THAN O and may be 100 or higher; y is a number between 0 and 1; (Mg(OH)2)x expresses the number of hydroxyls present in the carrier, however combined; and (H2O)y represents the number of chemically uncombined molecules of water present in the carrier. The catalysts are very active and use thereof in the polymerization of olefins results in high yields of polymers having a low content of foreign substances.
