摘要: An elongated structural barrier is provided including a base, a first panel extending upward from the base, a first sealer wall extending downward and transversely to the base, a second panel joined with the first panel and extending upwardly, a lower wedge extending upward from the base adjacent the first sealer wall, and a core compartment bounded by the lower wedge and the panels, with an open face defined above the lower wedge and offering a view into the core compartment. The lower wedge can include a flange to produce a first cavity of the compartment, in which an intumescent core can be positioned and configured to expand into a second cavity of the compartment when it swells. A second flange can oppose the first flange to further secure the core in the first cavity, and can form a bloom gap therebetween. A related method of use also is provided.

摘要: A sealing device can be used for an edge joint between a cladding part of drywall and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The sealing device contains a one-piece base body having a carrier portion, a contact portion, and a sealing portion. The carrier portion forms a support for the circumferential side of the cladding part. The contact portion starts from the carrier portion and protrudes in a first direction angled with respect to the carrier portion in order to rest against an edge of an end face of the cladding part. The sealing portion starts from the carrier portion and extends away from the carrier portion. The sealing portion has two spaced apart webs that bridge the edge joint. Furthermore, drywall can have at least one cladding part and a sealing device of this type.

摘要: An expansion joint seal system which includes intumescent to protect uncoated edges of substrates. A fire rated compressed expansion joint sealant is provided having an intumescent proximate, but below the water-resistant top of the fire-retardant foam, so that when exposed to fire, the intumescent expands to protect the exposed vertical surface of the adjacent concrete substrate. The end of the concrete is therefore protected in a manner which does not require joint overlap between the horizontal fire resistant coating and the compressible sealant.
