摘要: Polyamide foams which inhibit the spread of fires for filling cavities in mining Polyamide foams which do not propagate fire are obtained by mixing (i) a liquid isocyanate component which comprises at least one polyisocyanate and in which the molar ratio of aromatic isocyanate groups to the sum of aromatic and aliphatic isocyanate groups is at least 60 mol %, with (ii) at least one liquid isocyanate-reactive component which comprises a reactive diluent, and the reactive diluent comprises (a) a chain-extending and/or crosslinking reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C24-66-polycarboxylic acids, alicyclic C24-66-polycarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having at least two unesterified carboxyl groups and/or (b) a chain-terminating reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C24-66-monocarboxylic acids, alicyclic C24-66-monocarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having one unesterified carboxyl group, and (iii) optionally a solid isocyanate-reactive component, where the liquid isocyanate-reactive component and/or the solid isocyanate-reactive component comprises an aromatic C8-18-polycarboxylic acid and/or an anhydride thereof. Reactive diluents are dimeric fatty acids or trimeric fatty acids, which are optionally hydrogenated. The foams are suitable for filling cavities in mining, tunnel construction, civil engineering or in oil and gas recovery, as fire protection foam, thermal insulation or acoustic damping.

摘要: A through-penetration device has a molded body consisting essentially of an intumescent foam material and having at least one penetration opening for one line. An outer contour of the molded body has protrusions extending radially outward for anchoring within a cast building component, which protrusions form undercuts in building component as the building component is being cast. In addition, a mounting plate that can be axially pushed onto the through-penetration device, sealing the penetration openings, is provided. As the through-penetration device is produced, a liquid coating material is applied to a surface of a foaming mold, and then a foam mass containing a predetermined percentage of intumescent material is introduced into the foaming mold. After a foaming process, the coating material forms a water-impermeable skin on the foamed molded body.

摘要: An expansion joint seal system which includes intumescent to protect uncoated edges of substrates. A fire rated compressed expansion joint sealant is provided having an intumescent proximate, but below the water-resistant top of the fire-retardant foam, so that when exposed to fire, the intumescent expands to protect the exposed vertical surface of the adjacent concrete substrate. The end of the concrete is therefore protected in a manner which does not require joint overlap between the horizontal fire resistant coating and the compressible sealant.
