The present invention discloses a log sawing system comprising multiple cutting blades. The multiple cutting blades are positioned to cut laterally or perpendicular to the centerline of the log which is to be cut. The logs are transported into cutting position using some type of log positioner. The multiple cutting blades are rotatably mounted on an arm which is pivotally mounted on a shaft in groups, being driven by an electrical or like motor, all of which are mounted onto a platform positioned adjacent to the log to be cut. Hydraulic lifters are used to partially rotate the saw blades into the cutting position adjacent the log. Means utilizing a computer and lasers are provided to develop a log cutting solution to best utilize the logs.

The carriage mounts a cutter on a leading end thereof and is slidably disposed on the Y-axis shaft. The connecting frames connects and fixes the Y-axis shaft and the sub-shaft to each other. The elevating device moves up and down the sub-shaft to move the cutter up and down in the Z-axis direction with respect to the cutting sheet.

An automatic paper dispensing apparatus includes a molded plastic housing and a protective cover hingably attached to the housing, the housing further including a pair of parallel end shields disposed in a lower part of the housing. Each of said parallel end shields are perpendicular to a rear plane of the housing and spaced to allow positioning of a rotatably supported support drum and a pressure roller disposed in relation to the drum to ensure feeding of a strip of paper from a take-off reel disposed in an upper part of the housing. Each of the end shields include elastically deformable tongues having recesses to accommodate the pressure roller and to position opposing ends of the support drum, wherein the support drum is a unitary member comprising a smooth continuous area extending over essentially one-half the outer periphery of the drum, and having a plurality of discs spaced over the entire length thereof. Each of the discs are spaced apart from one another by a plurality of parallel plates, each of the discs including scalloped areas for accommodating a hinged cutting blade, the smooth area being disposed separately from the scalloped areas of the drum and in which the diameter of the drum at the smooth area is larger than the diameter of the drum at the remainder thereof so as to facilitate detachment of the strip of paper after cutting thereof.

The present invention is a method for advancing and cutting tube blanks into desired lengths and ejecting the unusable piece of tubing remaining after all of the usable cuts have been made. The machine for cutting the tubes of the present invention is preferably a standard supported shear type cutting machine and the ejection of the tube is accomplished via a pusher that is mounted for reciprocation on a carriage such that when the last piece of usable tubing has been cut from the tube blank the pusher may be activated to eject the tubing from the cutting machine.

The present invention pertains to an automatic cutting device which can be utilized for cutting woody plant material (e.g., stem, stalk). The subject device can comprise a housing having a fixed blade attached thereto. A movable blade, pivotally connected to the fixed blade, can be attached to an activating device for movement. The activating device is preferably a pushrod activated by an electrical solenoid which produces the force necessary to push the movable blade against the fixed blade in a cutting action. A spring can be used to return the movable blade to the open position between cuts. The solenoid can be activated by a switching means which is triggered by a lever device located in close proximity to the cutting portion of the blades. In a specific embodiment, as the stem is lowered, the lever is depressed which triggers the switch to activate the solenoid. The solenoid forces the push rod to push the movable blade against the fixed blade in a single cutting action to cut the stem. The movable blade then returns to the open position via a spring means.
