    摘要： The invention concerns naphtholactam derivatives of formula (I), in which: R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl C.sub.5 -C.sub.6 cycloalkcyl or substituted phenyl; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkanoyl, optionally substituted benzoyl, optionally substituted C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkyl, optionally substituted C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, optionally substituted C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkinyl, a halogen, nitro, sulphamoyl, optionally substituted hydroxy, optionally substituted mercapto, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkysulphonyl or optionally substituted phenylsulphonyl; R.sup.4 represents hydrogen or, with R.sup.3, a group of formula (II); R.sup.5 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl; R.sup.6 represents cyano, carbamoyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 mono- or dialkylcarbamoyl carboxyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl; and R.sup.7 represents substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, optionally substituted C.sub.5 -C.sub.13 alkyl or benzoyl. Also disclosed is the use of these derivatives for dyeing or printing textiles.

    摘要： A novel panchromatic electrophotographic recording element has an electrically conducting substrate and one or more photoconducting layers. The photoconducting layer contains one or more binders, several charge carrier-producing compounds or sensitizers, one or more charge carrier-transporting compounds (photoconductors) and, if required, additives. The sensitizers themselves are Victoria Blue FB (C.I. 44045), Crystal Violet FN (C.I. 42555), Rhodamine FB (C.I. 45170), Astrazone Orange R (C.I. 48040) and/or Astrazone Orange G (C.I. 48035), which are used together with naphtholactam dyes and/or with isoindolenine dyes. The naphtholactam dyes have one or more chromophores of the general basic structure ##STR1## in the molecule, and the isoindolenine dyes have one or more chromophores of the general basic structure ##STR2## in the molecule.

    摘要： There is described a novel process for producing 1,8-naphtholactam compounds of the formula I ##STR1## wherein the symbols R, A and B have the meanings defined in claim 1. This process comprises reacting a 1,8-naphtholactone compound of the formula II ##STR2## in an aqueous medium, with an amine of the formula IIINH.sub.2 --R (III),optionally in the presence of bisulfite. The naphtholactam compounds of the formula I are obtained with a high degree of purity and with a yield of over 90%.
