    摘要: An attic door support and trimming system includes a plurality of frame sections each having a base wall with an inner edge, an outer edge, a top side and a bottom side, a first end and a second end. A vertical wall extends upwardly from the base wall and is spaced from the inner and outer edges. The first and second ends of different frame sections are positionable against each other to form a rectangular shaped frame. The frame sections each are telescopic to allow a size of the rectangular shaped frame to be adjusted. The top side of the first flange is abuttable against the ceiling adjacent to the opening and the top of the second flange supports a cover when the cover is placed in a closed position closing the opening.

    摘要: The present application relates to an attic door assembly. The attic door assembly includes a jamb having an interior surface. The jamb is installed adjacent to a pull-down attic door. The attic door assembly also includes a rabbet disposed along a perimeter of the interior surface of the jamb and a door hingedly coupled to the jamb. The door includes a frame, a panel coupled to a first side of the frame, and a foam board coupled to a second side of the frame opposite the panel. The foam board, the panel, and the frame in combination define an interior space. An insulating material is disposed within the interior space. Finally, a flexible sealant is applied to the interior surface. The flexible sealant is operable to seal an interface of the rabbet, the jamb, and the door.

    摘要: A counterbalanced door assembly particularly suited for heavy-duty load bearing applications such as sidewalk access doors, and for precasting into concrete slabs, comprises a door, a frame surrounding the door, a hinge connecting the door to the frame for rotation about a first axis, a torque rod arm mounted to rotate about a second axis displaced from the first axis, and one or more torque rods. One end of the torque rod arm is connected to the torque rod to twist the torque rod as the torque rod arm rotates about the second axis thereby generating a counterbalance force. A force control mechanism, which may be a cam with a properly shaped cam surface or a link hinged at either end, receives the counterbalance force from the torque rod arm and applies it in a controlled direction over a controlled effective moment arm relative to the first axis to generate the desired counterbalance torque.

    摘要: An access door is constituted by an outer framework adapted to be fitted in a rough opening formed in a building ceiling, wall, or the like, an inner framework set in an opening in the outer framework, a cover plate secured to the inner framework so as to close an opening in the inner framework, a pair of bearings and axis for pivotally connecting the inner framework to the outer framework, and a locking means for locking the inner framework to the outer framework when the inner framework closes the opening in the outer framework. The bearings are projected on one framework of the opposite inner surfaces of the outer framework and the opposite outer surfaces of the inner framework, and have U-shaped bearing surfaces. The axis are projected on another framework of the opposite inner surfaces of the outer surfaces of the inner framework, and pivotally supported to the bearings, respectively.

    摘要: An access door assembly comprising a frame with an inwardly extending flange, a removable access door and clamping devices that are adjustable and so adapted that they can be adjusted to attach the access door assembly to bar members already randomly provided within the ceiling or wall structure at variable distances from the opening whereby a flush and tight clamping engagement will be made of the access door assembly against the exterior surfaces of the ceiling or wall within the opening of which the access door is being secured. The clamp devices are fixed at the corners of the door assembly and removed somewhat from the access door opening area and so that there is little interference therefrom.
