摘要： Modifications are provided in the structure of firearms such as breech-loading revolver handguns. Traditionally, these firearms are constructed with mating surfaces in face to face contact, which surfaces must be separated for loading. Where foreign particles are trapped between the flat mating surfaces on closing, jamming results. In one aspect of the invention, these flat mating surfaces are provided with cavities, so that any such foreign matter will fall into the cavities and not prevent the closing of the firearm mechanism after loading. In another aspect of the invention, a series of small vee-type notches, discernible by touch, are formed around the rear edge of a rotary magazine of cartridge cylinder, in a descending sequence in direction opposite to the operative direction of rotation of the rotary magazine when in battery. Thus, during a firing sequence, the operator of the firearm is able to quickly discern the number of live cartridges remaining to be fired simply by running a finger over the vee-type notches and noting their location relative to the firing mechanism.

摘要： An automatic pistol with blowback action, in which a hammer is cocked by the recoil of a slidable breechblock, has a retaining member in the form of an elongate lid detachably secured to the gunstock for holding the breechblock in place, this lid carrying a backstop for a restoring spring tending to thrust the breechblock forwardly. The rear limiting position of the breechblock is defined by a pair of upstanding wings, rigid with the gunstock, against which two lateral shoulders of the breechblock come to rest upon manual arming or after the firing of a cartridge. A swingable control element on the breechblock, entrainable by a setting knob through a lost-motion coupling, has a blocking position in which it prevents the hammer from striking a firing pin lodged in the breechblock; in a working position, this element is movably interposed between the hammer and the firing pin to act as a force-transmitting device upon the release of the hammer by depression of the trigger.

摘要： A gun for driving nails, bolts, etc. by the force generated by detonating an explosive cartridge has a firing mechanism with a striker pin for detonating the cartridge by operating the firing mechanism. The gun comprises an axially movable bolt accommodating a movable striker pin which, in turn, mounts a transversely disposed pin for limiting the axial movement of the striker pin and a spring which acts upon the bolt. The outside of the bolt includes an axial groove in which is placed an elongate member, the ends of which are provided with two inwardly directed arms. One arm is placeable into contact with the explosive cartridge at the forward flange thereof when the gun is cocked. This placement of the arm retains the cartridge against the front surface of the bolt. The other arm, due to the shape of the bolt, replaces the pin limiting the movement of the striker pin.

摘要： A bolt action rifle is convertible for use by either right hand or left hand shooters through alteration of the position of the bolt actuating handle and the shell ejector. The bolt actuating handle is mounted by screw means extended through a reversible sleeve. 摘要： A rifle breech assembly comprises a housing adapted to receive the barrel at one end and slidably to receive the breechblock at the other end. The latter carries at its forward end locking bosses, and the housing is formed with grooves which receive the locking bosses and open into an annular recess defined by the rear end of the barrel and permitting a rotation of the breechblock. The breechblock is provided with a resilient pivotally movable extractor disposed between two locking bosses and terminating in an extractor hook. The inside surface of the housing wall constitutes adjacent to the annular recess a surface for radially supporting the extractor hook when the breechblock is locked. A recess which permits a pivotal movement of the extractor is disposed beside that supporting surface in the peripheral direction.
