    Abstract: The field emission cathode device includes an insulating substrate with a number of cathodes mounted thereon. A number of field emission units are mounted on the cathodes. A dielectric layer is disposed on the insulating substrate and defines a number of voids corresponding to the field emission units. The dielectric layer has an upper and lower section and disposed on the insulating substrate. The dielectric layer defining a plurality of voids corresponding to the field emission units.     Abstract: A circuit for driving one electrode group of a gas discharge display panel includes a plurality of PNP transistors and NPN transistors. The emitter electrodes of the PNP transistors are connected to a positive voltage source and the emitter electrodes of the NPN transistors are connected to ground. Diode means are connected between the collector electrodes of the PNP transistors and those of the NPN transistors across matrix points formed at the intersections of a first plurality of conductors connected respectively to the collector electrodes of the PNP transistors and a second plurality of conductors connected respectively to the collector electrodes of the NPN transistors. The individual electrodes of one electrode group of the gas discharge panel are connected to the diode means.     Abstract: Gas discharge panel conductor configuration and conductor system to increase efficiency of light output conductor configuration which is substantially more likely to be electrically continuous. The conductors of a conductor array on a plate forming the viewing side of the panel are formed by sets of coplanar conductor elements spaced apart so that when a discharge occurs, an observer sees more of the center of the discharge which would ordinarily be partially hidden by a solid conductive line on the viewing side of the panel. The conductor elements of a set may be connected at regular intervals to provide a plurality of electrically parallel routes for conduction in case a section of a conductor element of a set is discontinuous. The gas discharge is more visible since the applied field between selected conductor elements is across two conductors which are not congruent as seen by the observer. Moreover, since the conductor elements are relatively narrow fringe light produced at a discharge site is better seen as to further enhance the delivery of light from the panel.     Abstract: Shields for feedthrough pin insulators of a hot cathode ionization gauge are provided to increase the operational lifetime of the ionization gauge in harmful process environments. Various shield materials, designs, and configurations may be employed depending on the gauge design and other factors. In one embodiment, the shields may include apertures through which to insert feedthrough pins and spacers to provide an optimal distance between the shields and the feedthrough pin insulators before the shields are attached to the gauge. The shields may further include tabs used to attach the shields to components of the gauge, such as the gauge's feedthrough pins. Through use of example embodiments of the insulator shields, the life of the ionization gauge is extended by preventing gaseous products from a process in a vacuum chamber or material sputtered from the ionization gauge from depositing on the feedthrough pin insulators and causing electrical leakage from the gauge's electrodes.
