摘要: A welding-type power system that includes an engine configured to drive an electric generator to provide a first power output. In addition to the electric generator, the system includes an energy storage system to provide a second power output. The system includes energy storage devices and charging devices that are used to charge the energy storage devices. A controller is configured to control the charging devices to provide charging power output to the energy storage devices based on the parameters related to the charge level of the energy storage devices. The controller, using data received from sensors and charge measurement devices, determines the respective charge level for each energy storage device; compares the respective charge levels to one or more threshold charge levels; and controls the charging devices to provide a charging power output to the energy storage devices with a charge level that is below a threshold charge level.

摘要: A charging circuit and a method with an inductor, an input to receive an input voltage, an output, and a switching means is presented. The switching means performs cycles where each cycle includes, switching the circuit such that the inductor enters into an energy charging state in which the inductor stores energy provided by the input voltage. When energy stored in the inductor reaches an energy threshold, the switching circuit operates such that the inductor enters into an energy discharging state in which the inductor provides energy to the output. The energy threshold is based on a predefined maximum energy storage current value and the time between cycles is based on a duration of the energy discharging state.

The charger on the primary side can charge both the first battery and the second battery. A hinge resistance is between the primary side and the secondary side. The primary side includes a feedback controlled active device in a current path of the first battery that compensates for the hinge resistance, for connector resistances, or for battery impedances in a current path of the second battery.

摘要: According to an embodiment, a power supply system for an electric motor car includes a first terminal, a second terminal, and a conversion unit. The first terminal is electrically connected to one of a power storage device and an overhead wire provided within a formation of electric motor cars. The second terminal is electrically connected to a lead wire together with a plurality of electric motors within the formation, a host power supply device, an external power supply device different from the host power supply device. The conversion unit receives first electric power supplied from the plurality of electric motors and the external power supply device via the second terminal and causes a direct current (DC) voltage to be generated at the first terminal according to a regenerative operation of the conversion unit to charge the power storage device in a first operation state and receives second electric power supplied from one of the power storage device and the overhead wire via the first terminal, converts a part of the second electric power into third electric power according to a powered operation of the conversion unit, and outputs the third electric power from the second terminal in a second operation state, thereby converting electric power.
