A proxy server including a system manager and a database is provided. The system manager includes an internal registrar module, an external registrar module, a session manager module and a signal routing module. The internal registrar module provides an internal register service for a plurality of nodes in a first service network. The external registrar module registers at an internet service provider providing network services in a second service network. The session manager module manages session processes in the first service network and the second service network and manages the network services shared between the registered nodes. The signal routing module routes control signals of the session processes between the first service network and the second service network. The database stores information related to the registered nodes.

The present invention discloses an optical disc drive including a pickup head for reading data from a disc; a spindle motor for supporting and rotating the disc; a loading/ejecting apparatus for loading or ejecting the disc; and an emergency ejecting apparatus. The emergency ejecting apparatus includes a slider for connecting the loading/ejecting apparatus, a rack, an elastic component for connecting the slider and the rack and a rotator rotated with the movement of the slider. When a user drives the rotator and the elastic component is elastically deformed, the slider is moved in the optical disc drive to drive the loading/ejecting apparatus to eject the disc.

A light emitting diode (LED) structure and a LED packaging structure are disclosed. The LED structure includes a sub-mount, a stacked structure, an electrode, an isolation layer and a conductive thin film layer. The sub-mount has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The stacked structure has a first semiconductor layer, an active layer and a second semiconductor layer that are laminated on the first surface. The electrode is disposed apart from the stacked structure on the first surface. The isolation layer is disposed on the first surface to surround the stacked structure as well as cover the lateral sides of the active layer. The conductive thin film layer connects the electrode to the stacked structure and covers the stacked structure.

A method of adjusting a write strategy of a recordable disc comprises steps of: generating a test pattern on a power calibrating area of the recordable disc according to a first write strategy, a first write power, and a first target β value; establishing a Pit-to-Land Inter-Symbol Interference table and a Land-to-Pit Inter-Symbol Interference table by measuring a plurality of Pits and Lands with different time lengths in the test pattern; generating an updated timing parameter set by adjusting a timing parameter set of the first write strategy according to the Pit-to-Land Inter-Symbol Interference table and the Land-to-Pit Inter-Symbol Interference table; and generating an updated target β value according to the updated timing parameter set.

A shoe positioning device of a bicycle that has a pedal, a sole and multiple positioning elements. The pedal has multiple locating recesses formed therein. The sole is made of a resilient material. Each positioning element has a top end selectively engaging one of the locating recesses, thereby positioning a shoe and the pedal to increase cycling speed. Besides, easy disengagement of the shoe from the pedal reduces chances of accident in cycling.

A portable computer and a hinge mechanism thereof are provided. The portable computer includes a display screen, a host and a hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism is connected with the display screen and the host. The hinge mechanism is used for rotating the display screen around the host. The hinge mechanism includes a bottom board, a pivot, a network connecter and a slanting board. The pivot is disposed on the bottom board, wherein one end of the pivot is connected with the host and the other end of the pivot is connected with the display screen. The network connecter is disposed on the bottom board. The slanting board is disposed on the bottom board and slants to the pivot. The slanting board has an opening which exposes the network connecter.

A number of features for enhancing the performance of a communication system, in which data is transmitted between a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations located different distances from the base station, are presented. The power transmission level, slot timing, and equalization of the subscriber stations are set by a ranging process. Data is transmitted by the subscriber stations in fragmented form. Various measures are taken to make transmission from the subscriber stations robust. The uplink data transmission is controlled to permit multiple access from the subscriber stations.

A method for providing a service comprising a plurality of coding layers in a communication network is provided, and wherein each one of said plurality of layers is associated with a unique identifier, the method uses a single message containing necessary information for a receiver to derive all identifiers for several layers within a single service; the method allows to reduce the messages exchange in such a communication system.
