The invention provides a dielectric resonator device comprising a coaxial dielectric resonator 2 which comprises a dielectric block 21 having a bore 22 extending therethrough, an outer conductor layer 24 formed on an outer peripheral surface of the dielectric block 21, an inner conductor layer 23 formed on the dielectric block 21 over an inner peripheral surface thereof defining the bore 22, a short-circuiting conductor layer 25 providing a short circuit between the outer conductor layer 24 and the inner conductor layer 23, and a separated conductor layer 3 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the dielectric block 21 and electrically separated from the outer conductor layer 24. The separated conductor layer 3 is connected to the ground by a switch SW, which varies the capacity of the resonator 2 upon switching to alter the resonance frequency thereof.

A curtain airbag device that can be applied to a small-width pillar. The curtain airbag device is accommodated in a region extending from at least an A-pillar to an upper portion of a window frame, and includes an airbag that is deployed in a curtain form near a side window of a vehicle interior in order to protect an occupant; and a gas generator that supplies inflation gas to the airbag. The accommodated airbag is formed in a rod shape by being folded in a roll form. When the airbag is accommodated, the airbag is partially compressed toward the center of the airbag at a narrow portion where an installation area of the A-pillar is narrow, in order to partially decrease a diameter of the airbag.

A genetic polymorphism and a hair shape susceptibility gene that are related to hair shape, and a method for determining the genetic susceptibility to hair shape in individual test subjects are provided. Disclosed is a hair shape susceptibility gene, which overlaps with a haplotype block in 1q21.3 region (D1S2696 to D1S2346) of human chromosome 1 and comprises a portion or the entirety of the base sequence of the haplotype block, wherein the haplotype block is determined by a linkage disequilibrium analysis conducted on a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker whose allele frequency differs statistically significantly between a group having a curly hair trait and a group having a non-curly hair trait, and consists of a base sequence set forth in any one of SEQ ID NO: 1 to NO: 5.

A vehicle curtain airbag device is provided including: a curtain airbag including a main chamber that inflates and deploys to a vehicle width direction inside of a driving-seat-side side window due to being supplied with gas from an inflator installed to a vehicle, a delay chamber that is provided at a vehicle front-rear direction front side of the main chamber, and that completes inflation and deployment later than the main chamber upon receipt of the gas supply, and a sub chamber that is disposed on the vehicle width direction inside of the main chamber and that inflates and deploys so as to block off a gap formed between the main chamber and a driver's seat airbag that is inflated and deployed from a steering wheel; and a controller that inflates and deploys the driver's seat airbag and actuates the inflator in the event of a small overlap collision.

The type determining unit determines the type of image on the sheet conveyed to the decoloring unit based on the reading result in the pre-decoloring reading unit. The post-decoloring reading unit reads an image on the sheet after the decoloring, which is conveyed by the second sheet conveying unit. The decoloring success or failure determining unit determines whether or not the decoloring in the decoloring unit is successful based on the reading result in the post-decoloring reading unit. The determination criterion setting unit sets a determination criterion in the decoloring success or failure determining unit, based on the type of image, which is determined by the type determining unit.
