Abstract:
Examples described herein include a print media edge repair system that includes a first repair element disposed adjacent to a media handling path to repair a leading edge of a sheet of print media as the sheet of print media moves into a position relative to a printing system associated with the print media edge repair system. The print media repair system may also include a second repair element disposed opposite the first repair element across the media handling path to repair a trailing edge of the sheet of print media as the sheet of print media moves into the position relative to a printing system.
Abstract:
A paper particle removing device is provided with a paper particle removing roller configured to contact a printing sheet to capture paper particles on the printing sheet, a scraping member arranged adjacent to the paper particle removing roller and configured to contact the paper particle removing roller to scrape the paper particles, a paper particle container arranged on a scraping member side with respect to a position where the scraping member contacts the paper particle removing roller, and configured to collect the paper particles scraped by the scraping member, and a negatively-charged member arranged on the scraping member side with respect to a position where the paper particle removing roller contacts the scraping member and having a relative tendency in a triboelectric series to be negatively charged relative to the paper particles, the negatively-charged member inducing the paper particles scraped by the scraping member toward the paper particle container.
Abstract:
A toner image formed on an image bearing member is transferred onto a recording material so as to overflow from an edge portion of the recording material, thereby enabling the toner image to be formed so as to extend to the edge portion of the recording material. To suppress the deposition of the toner in the edge portion of the recording material, a cleaning member for cleaning the edge portion of the recording material obtained after the fixing is provided. In order to make a trailing edge of the recording material come into contact with the cleaning member, the recording material which has passed through a fixing apparatus is temporarily switched back, thereby allowing the trailing edge portion of the recording material to collide with the cleaning member.
Abstract:
An image recording medium that can be repeatedly used by removing the toner image has a three-layered structure formed of a heat-resistant resin sheet and a pair of releasing and light absorptive layers coated on both sides of the heat-resistant resin sheet. The releasing and light absorptive layer generates heat by absorbing laser so as to fuse and fix the toner image formed on the special sheet surface at the time of image forming, and assures pertinent releasing performance at the time of image removal so as to facilitate removal of the re-fused toner image. Each releasing and light absorptive layer may be split into a light absorptive layer and a releasing layer. The heat-resistant resin sheet may be produced by adding an infrared absorbent to a heat-resistant resin sheet to serve as a heat-resistant sheet and a light absorptive layer.
Abstract:
An erasing device includes a line scanner on an upstream side in a recording medium conveying direction, includes a thermal head downstream in the recording medium conveying direction of the line scanner, and includes a platen in a position opposed to the thermal head as a heating device across a recording medium conveying path. The erasing device causes the heat generating elements of the thermal head in positions corresponding to color and density sensors in positions of an image detected by the line scanner to generate heat. The erasing device controls, according to detected colors or density, a quantity of heat to be generated.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an erasing apparatus including a recording medium removing apparatus includes: a thickness sensor configured to change an output signal according to the thickness of a recording medium; a recording medium conveying mechanism configured to convey the recording medium; a recording medium removing mechanism provided downstream in a recording medium conveying direction of the thickness sensor and configured to remove the recording medium in a direction perpendicular to the recording medium conveying direction; a control unit configured to remove, if the control unit determines that the recording medium is unconveyable, the recording medium from a recording medium conveying path with the recording medium removing mechanism; and a heating roller configured to heat the recording medium to temperature equal to or higher than erasing temperature.
Abstract:
When a toner image larger than a recording material is formed on an image bearing member, and the toner image is transferred onto the recording material as widely as possible to form an image without margins, a toner in a vicinity of an end portion of the recording material adheres to the recording material while remaining unfixed. In order to suppress the adhesion of the toner to the end portion of the recording material, the recording material is passed through a cleaning unit for the end portion of the recording material after fixation. In the cleaning unit, the recording material is sent askew. By being conveyed while an edge of the end portion of the recording material is rubbed against a cleaning member, the recording material becomes less subject to the adhesion of the toner at the end portion thereof.
Abstract:
A card cleaning device for use in an image forming machine includes a frame adapted for installation into an appropriately configured image forming machine, a bottom card cleaning roller having a shaft removably coupled to the frame and adapted for cleaning a card being fed at an angle relative to the frame and a top adhesive roller coupled removably to the frame on top of the bottom roller for continuous cleaning of the bottom roller by means of friction during device operation. The cards are being fed one at a time at an angle relative to the frame to save internal printer space by a card feeder mechanism disposed proximate to the card cleaning device with the entering end of each card being slightly bent upon first card contact with a pair of card entry guides or a card entry guide plate coupled to the frame under the bottom roller so as to enable card feeding at an angle and prevent premature wear of the bottom card cleaning roller.
Abstract:
An image forming device capable of sufficiently removing paper dusts on a sheet thereby providing high quality image. A sheet transport path 38 is defined between a sheet supply section 7 provided with a separation pad 13 and a sheet supply roller 12 and an image forming section 5. Along the sheet supply section 7, at least a first paper dust removing roller 9b having a width slightly greater than the width of the separation pad 13 and a second paper dust removing roller 10b having a width slightly greater than the sheet width are disposed. Paper dusts generated upon friction against the separation pad 13 are removed by the first paper dust removing roller 9b, and paper dusts spreading over entire surface of the sheet are removed by the second paper dust removing roller 10b.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a casing 2 and a process cartridge 20, which is mounted removably in the casing. A powder retaining box 53 is supported pivotally by the bottom of the process cartridge 20, and supports a pinch roller 52 for contacting with a sheet of paper 3 to collect paper powder from it. The retaining box 53 has an opening through which the collected powder enters it. The pinch roller 52 substantially closes the box opening, and prevents the paper powder in the retaining box 53 from scattering out when the process cartridge 20 is dismounted from the casing 2. If the retaining box 53 were fixed to the process cartridge 20, and the pinch roller 52 moved relative to the retaining box when the process cartridge is dismounted, paper powder might scatter out of the retaining box.
