Abstract:
A method and system for evaluating the reputation of a member of a social networking system is disclosed. Consistent with an embodiment of the invention, one or more attributes associated with a social networking profile of a member of a social network are analyzed. Based on the analysis, a ranking, rating or score is assigned to a particular category of reputation. When requested, the ranking, rating or score is displayed to a user of the social network.
Abstract:
An apparatus for orientating a solid growth culture medium plate from an original orientation to a worked orientation, the plate having a lid and a bottom, the apparatus including an orientation mechanism that includes opposed jaws able to receive and hold a plate therebetween in a held position that defines a notional tube above and below the plate, the orientation mechanism being mounted on a jaw support member such that the jaw support member is rotatable such that at least the plate bottom rotates about a generally horizontal axis that intersects the notional tube to orientate at least the plate bottom from the original orientation to the worked orientation.
Abstract:
A propeller comprising a hub (101) and a plurality of fins (3) extending radially outwards from the hub, wherein each fin is moveably connected to the hub such that, during rotation of the propeller, either the dihedral, the rake or both the dihedral and the rake of the fin(s) can be altered and controlled over a working range by movement of the fin(s) about one or more axes of rotation; and one or more actuators for controlling the dihedral or rake of the fins independently of the pitch of the fins.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods of administering health care insurance benefits. In particular, the present invention is directed to methods of providing health care coverage in which clinical services are differentiated into different clinical categories, which correspond with different levels of insurance benefits. The clinical categories include Preventive or Chronic Care Services, Core Services, Standard Services, and non-covered services.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to improving and/or increasing the bioavailability of a biologically active substance, such as a peptide. In particular, the present invention relates to the conjugation of the biologically active substance to a bile acid. The conjugated biologically active substance is suitable particularly for oral or parental administration.
Abstract:
A bi-directional transceiver comprises a housing, a flange coupled to the housing, and only one LC receptacle coupled to the housing. A width of the housing is less than 9.2 mm, and a width of the flange is less than 9.5 mm.
Abstract:
A method and system provides access to information about a resource associated with a network device. The method and system selects a layer for communicating with the requested resource associated with the network device in a network protocol stack having multiple layers, establishes an inner layer socket for communicating at the selected layer using an inner layer application programming interface (IL API) and a socket identifier associated with the requested resource, wherein the inner layer socket communicates using the selected layer and bypasses other layers in the network protocol stack, transmits the request for information about the resource through the inner layer socket and the socket identifier, receives the information about the resource in response to the transmission made through the inner layer socket, and passes the information about the resource through the inner layer socket to the application making the request.
Abstract:
The application relates to water craft hulls having improved hydrodynamic stability. A hull (1) is claimed in which the center of gravity (Cg) is substantially vertically aligned with the center of hydrodynamic lift (Cp) of a lifting surface of the hull, both at lift-off speed and at design speed, and preferably also at speeds below lift-off, and at all speeds between lift-off and design speed and above. A hull having a relatively high aspect ratio at design speed, and preferably also at lift-off speed, is also claimed. In the preferred embodiment, the hull is generally delta-shaped in plan view.
Abstract:
A pin header for a transceiver comprises a frame comprising a rectangle that is indented on opposing sides of the rectangle, a first row of pins extending through the frame at a first angle to the rectangle, and a second row of pins extending through the frame at a second angle to the rectangle. The first row of pins is along a first side of the frame between the indented opposing sides and the second row of pins is along a second side of the frame between the indented opposing sides.
