Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds useful, for example, for treating metabolic disorders in a subject. Such compounds have the general formula I: where the definitions of the variables are provided herein. The present invention also provides compositions that include, and methods for using, the compounds in preparing medicaments and for treating metabolic disorders such as, for example, type II diabetes.
Abstract:
A semiconductor wafer comprises a plurality of die areas, at least a first scribe line area and at least a second scribe line area surrounding each die area, at least a first metal structure positioned in the first scribe line area, and at least a second metal structure positioned in the second scribe line area. The first metal structure comprises at least a first slot split parallel to the first scribe line area, or comprises a plurality of openings arranged in an array. The second metal structure comprises at least a second slot split parallel to the second scribe line area, or comprises a plurality of openings arranged in an array.

Abstract:
A method for implementing Information Service (IS) level inheritance in a network management system includes: defining a WSDL file for an inheriting IRP, including the base management operations of the base IRP in the WSDL file for the inheriting IRP during the defining action to establish the IS level inheritance between the inheriting IRP and the base IRP; implementing conversion between a base management operation message and a SOAP format message according to the IS level inheritance. Apparatuses and other methods for implementing IS level inheritance are disclosed as well. The solution enables the inheriting IRP module of the network management apparatus to correctly execute the base management operation by establishing the IS level inheritance between the inheriting IRP and the base IRP, which meets the IS level description requirement of the IRP.
Abstract:
A back recess balance weight structure for golf club heads is located on a back side of a golf club head relative to the striking face and includes a back recess body and a sealing cap. The back recess body has a back recess with a plurality of cavities formed therein. The sealing cap covers the back recess by bonding. The structure consists of simple elements. The sealing cap is made from a material of a smaller specific gravity to move the weight of the club head to the optimal position. The adhesive can absorb shock and vibration to form a tight sealing of the sealing cap and the back recess body. Thereby optimal stability and striking accuracy can be achieved during swinging of the golf club.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for reducing reverse bias in an electrophoretic display. The system and method include the application of varying levels of voltages across an array of electrophoretic display cells of the electrophoretic display to move the cells towards a stable state in a driving cycle. In addition, the system and method disconnect the voltages from the electrophoretic display cells at a time duration prior to reaching step transitions of the voltages during the driving cycle. Pre-driving approaches apply a first pre-driving voltage at a first polarity to the display cells before driving the display cells with a second driving voltage at a second, opposite polarity. Varying the time duration and amplitude of the pre-driving signals produces further beneficial reduction in reverse bias.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system for linking documents, the method comprising the steps of providing a plurality of clusters in an enterprise intranet, each cluster consists of one or more documents; building a cluster page for each cluster to present the documents in the cluster; and building links between the cluster pages, between the documents, and between the cluster page and the document, based on analysis of the contents of the clusters and the documents. The present invention is useful for building the links between separate documents and may apply a link analyzing algorithm to the search for these documents to implement better search performance within the enterprise intranet.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, there is provided a method and system for automatically generating a summary for a textual document, and relevant applications. The method and system includes segmenting a given textual document into document segments, wherein the document segments are words, sentences or paragraphs in the textual document; extracting a number of the document segments to form an initial summary for the document; for each of the document segments in the initial summary, calculating the correlation degrees between the document segment and its neighboring document segments, wherein the neighboring document segments of a given document segment refer to the document segments within a predefined distance from the given document segment; and adding the document segments with higher correlation degrees into the initial summary.
Abstract:
A lighted pen has a hollow pen body, a transparent gripping portion, and a control device assembled at a top end of the pen body. The pen body has a conductive swiveling mechanism, and a light seat. The swiveling mechanism has a pushing rod. The light seat has a pen tip assembled in a front portion thereof, a light embedded therein, and a battery chamber. One end of the light is rearwardly in contact with the batteries, and the other end is exposed outside the light seat. The pushing rod contacts another end of the batteries. The gripping portion has a connecting ring assembled on a distal end thereof for connecting the pen body and a spring disposed in the connecting ring to contact the exposed terminal of the light. The control device rotates the swiveling mechanism and has a push-button switch mounted therein for controlling light.
