    Abstract: Provided is a catheter with a novel structure which is able to allow its distal end portion to deform to curve more effectively in response to an operation from an outside. In a catheter 10, a control lumen 24 extending in a lengthwise direction is provided to an elongated shaft member 33, a control wire 54 is inserted through the control lumen 24, a fixing part 57 to which a distal end of the control wire 54 is fixed is provided to the shaft member 33, and an exposed part 60 is provided to a distal end portion of the control wire 54 over a predetermined length so as to be exposed through a window part 58 provided to a peripheral wall 28 of the control lumen 24 to a separate internal space 12 in the shaft member 33.

    Abstract: Provided is a stent having a novel structure, the stem simultaneously having both the stability of shape against the action of external force, such as compression force, tensile force, or torsional force, and high flexibility in the direction of twisting of the stem. Connection groups are provided at three or more positions set at circumferentially equally-spaced intervals, the connection groups each including connection sections which are disposed circumferentially close to each other between axially adjacent tubular divided bodies. The connection groups on both sides axially of each of the tubular divided bodies are provided at positions circumferentially offset from each other while at least one turning portion is present between the connection groups.

    Abstract: This needle assembly is provided with a needle having a needle tip, a needle hub, and a protector. The protector is displaceable between a non-protection position at which the needle is exposed and a protection position at which the needle tip is covered; has an opening formed elongated to match the needle, and includes a main body and a claw-like portion. The needle enters the main body from the opening to cover the needle tip when the protector is displaced to the protection position. The claw-like portion is bent by the needle when the protector is displaced to the protection position, allows the needle to advance into the protector main body, and is elastically restored to lock the needle when the needle enters the main body. The claw-like portion projects obliquely from the main body, extends across the opening in the width direction, and extends in the longitudinal direction.

    Abstract: A connector which is detachably connected to a cylindrical section is prevented from unintentionally disconnecting and breaking. The connector has inner and outer cylinder members. The inner cylinder member has an engagement plate protruding from the inner peripheral surface of an inner cylinder body and engaging with a recess formed in the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical section, and also has slits arranged radially and extending from the engagement plate to a part of the inner cylinder body. The engagement between the recess and the engagement plate restricts the axial movement of the inner cylinder member relative to the cylindrical section. When the outer cylinder member is mounted on the inner cylinder member, the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder member is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder member, and the displacement of the engagement plate in the diameter expansion direction is restricted.

    Abstract: A foreign matter detecting apparatus includes an oscillating unit, an optical system, a receiving unit, a scanning mechanism, and an operator. The oscillating unit generates a terahertz pulse wave and emits the terahertz pulse wave as irradiation light. The optical system guides the irradiation light to the first part of the container and condenses reflected light from the container. The receiving unit outputs a signal corresponding to the condensed reflected light and also measures an echo. The scanning mechanism scans a position of the irradiation light guided on the first part in a two-dimensional manner. The operator detects foreign matter in powder in a container based on at least one of a time waveform signal, a reflection image, a power spectrum, a tomographic image, and a frequency image. The time waveform signal is output from the receiving unit in chronological order.
