Abstract: Vessel occlusion coils disclosed that have a primary configuration for delivery and a secondary configuration for deployment that is conferred upon the devices by a stretch resistant member. In the secondary configuration, the stretch resistant member forms a stiffer coil and may have a greater diameter, and a more complex shape having some interior space, at one end than at the other end, for improved anchoring of the device in the vessel. The methods include intravascular delivery and deployment for implanting one or more vessel occlusion devices.

Abstract: A system for mechanically deploying intraluminal implants is disclosed. The system is used with an implant that is delivered and/or deployed via a pull wire and includes a handle having a funnel and receiving channel for receiving the pull wire, a slider having a thumb grip and a wedge, and a shuttle having a grabber for grasping the pull wire. The thumb grip is pulled proximally to retract the wedge to cause the grabber to grasp the wire and retract the shuttle but not the wire. An extension spring linked between the slider and the shuttle abruptly pulls the shuttle to retract the pull wire after the slider is fully retracted.

Abstract: Real-time two-way communication between a user immersed in a virtual reality (VR) environment and another party who is not in the VR environment. The sequence of video frames being presented to the VR user on, e.g., a head mounted display, i.e., the VR user's “field of view” in the VR environment, is shown to a guest user on their computing device. Simultaneously, video from a camera in a guest user computing device is shown to the VR user in a window in the VR environment. Audio is also exchanged in real time between the VR user and guest user by use of a microphone and loudspeaker in both the VR system and the guest user computing device. The VR user's system can also support both rotational and translational user movement thus properly changing the VR user's apparent distance from objects displayed in the VR environment.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an aspiration thrombectomy system includes an aspiration catheter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen to accommodate fluid, a first valve capable of removing fluids from the system to alter a level of pressure in the system in a first manner, a second valve capable of providing fluids into the system to alter the level of pressure in the system in a second manner, and a cutting instrument at the distal end of the aspiration catheter having a spiral body connected to a rounded element having a scooped-out portion for engaging a target occlusive material, the cutting instrument being capable of axial and rotational motion, and the system being capable of cutting and removing the occlusive material based on the motions of the cutting instrument and one or more of the first manner and the second manner of altering the level of pressure.
