Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the direct reduction of oxidic iron carrier particles to a reduction product in a fluidized bed through which a reduction gas containing 30-100 mol % hydrogen H2 flows in crossflow. At least 90% by mass of oxidic iron carrier particles introduced into the fluidized bed have a particle size of less than or equal to 200 micrometers. The superficial velocity U of the reduction gas flowing through the fluidized bed is set between 0.05 m/s and 1 m/s such that, for the particle size d equal to d30 of the oxidic iron carrier particles introduced into the fluidized bed, it is above the theoretical suspension velocity Ut and is less than or equal to Umax.

Abstract: A dynamic production planning method for a continuous casting plant for casting a strand with a production system which has a predefined production plan, which method includes comparing target production parameters with actual production parameters. If the actual production parameters deviate from the target production parameters, a strand image is created on the basis of actual production parameters. With the aid of the calculated strand image, a check is carried out within the predefined production plan and, if possible, a new production plan is created. If no solution can be found from the predefined production plan, the strand image is transmitted to a production planning system. The production planning system creates a new production plan from all available orders on the basis of a predefined optimization criterion. The new production plan is subsequently transmitted to the production system.

Abstract: A cooling bar (1) for cooling rolled material (5) being moved in a transport direction (3) and in particular for reducing temperature differences in the temperature of the rolled material (5) transversely to the direction of transport (3). The cooling bar (1) has several full jet nozzles (11) by means of which a coolant beam of a coolant with an approximately constant jet diameter can be distributed to the rolling stock (5) in the direction of distribution (15). A cooling device has at least two cooling bars (1) of that type. The cooling bars extend transversely to a transport direction, one behind the other. Each cooling bar has a respective different pattern of jet nozzles and selection of applicable pattern of jet nozzles in their respective bars selectively cools the rolled material transversely to the transport direction.

Abstract: A device (1) for inductive heating of a workpiece (2) in a rolling mill, the device (1) including: a converter (3) for creating an alternating voltage, a capacitor bank (6) electrically connected to the converter (3), and having a plurality of capacitors (7) connected in parallel, a working field (8), in which an upper coil (10) and a lower coil (11) are arranged. The workpiece (2) is able to be passed between the coils (10, 11) and is thereby inductively heated by cross-field heating. A housing (4) arranged next to, below or above the working field (8). The converter (3) and capacitor bank (6) are arranged in the housing (4). The coils (10, 11) are each electrically connected to the capacitor bank (6) by a flexible cable (12, 13). The cable (12, 13) is a coaxial cable (27), with one phase of the alternating voltage applied to an inner conductor (28) and the other phase of the alternating voltage applied to an outer conductor (29) of the coaxial cable (27). The cables (12, 13) are cooled by a fluid, such as air or water (21).
