To customize information online using a site management module, a request is received, from a remote computer over a network, to modify information for presentation in a container on a computer, wherein the container facilitates interaction between a plurality of applications associated with a plurality of business units. Configuration information is received from the remote computer to modify the presentation of information. A processor generates a modifiable configuration file according to the configuration information, wherein the modifiable configuration file comprises instructions to present the information in the container on the computer.
Abstract:
A performance analysis system analyzes the performance of affiliate sites that provide links to specific items in an electronic catalog, and identifies catalog items that can be listed by such affiliate sites to improve performance. An association mining component analyzes transaction data attributable to specific categories of affiliate sites to identify items that are frequently purchased in combination by users of such sites. The detected item associations are used to evaluate, for a given affiliate site, whether significant disparities exist between the expected and actual sales quantities of specific items. The results of the analysis are incorporated into affiliate-specific performance reports, which may include specific recommendations for improving performance. The disclosed methods may also be used to analyze the performance of, and provide recommendations to, online sellers within a marketplace or auction system.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention are provided to adjust a product demand forecast. In one embodiment, a value is determined of an aggregation of a plurality of product level demand forecasts for a respective plurality of products in a product group at a desired value of a critical ratio. The critical ratio expresses a probability that a forecast will exceed a demand for a given product. A ratio is determined of the aggregation of the product level demand forecasts to a global demand forecast for the product group in the computer system. The ratio is verified as to whether it is congruous with a historical ratio of past aggregate product level demand forecasts to actual product demand.

The invention provides method and systems for performing clinical assessment of a patient that includes determining of a base clinical assessment for the patient by generating information on a clinical rating scale. At least one objective signal is recorded, and each objective signal involves an indicator corresponding to the state of the patient or the state of the patient's environment. Each objective signal is analyzed for generating a corresponding rating on the clinical rating scale. The clinical assessment of the patient may be provided by combining the information from the base clinical assessment with the information generated from analysis of each objective signal. In an embodiment, the clinical assessment may be based exclusively on information generated by analysis of each objective signal. The methods for performing clinical assessment of a patient may also be provided as computer program products having computer readable instructions embodied therein.

An actuator assembly comprised of: a first coil and a second coil, each with a bore and a producing a magnetic flux when subject to an electric signal; a tube extending through the bores such that coils are coaxial; a magnetic pole piece within the tube and generally between the first bore and the second bore; a magnetic ring set outside of the tube and between the coils, in which the magnetic flux paths both travel through the magnetic pole piece and the magnetic ring to complete their respective magnetic paths; and a first and second axially translatable movable member within the tube and wherein the movable members each axially translate towards the magnetic pole piece in the presence of the magnetic flux such that by controlling the electric signal, proportionality can be achieved.

The present invention discloses a surgical opening repair device and methods of use thereof. The device comprises an anchor attached to a suture. The device has been specifically manufactured and designed in order to overcome the currently existing obstacles which result when a surgical repair device remains in the abdominal cavity subsequent to the completion of a surgical procedure. The invention additionally discloses a method of surgical hernia by using the device disclosed herein. The present invention additionally discloses a method of repairing a laparoscopic opening which commonly results from a primary surgery. The method of repairing the laparoscopic opening quickly and efficiently closes the opening such that repair is complete even though materials that are foreign to the body remain in the body subsequent to the procedure.

A system and method for detecting substances such as glucose in tissue. The system comprises an assay device and an optical apparatus. The assay device comprises a reactive region that is responsive to at least one substance in fluid to be collected from the tissue when the fluid is in contact with the reactive region, and which reactive region is also responsive to a first type of optical energy suitable to heat up and transfer heat by conduction to the tissue to ablate the tissue and form at least one opening in the tissue from which fluid is collected. The optical apparatus has an activation head to which the assay device is attached, and a first optical energy source that outputs a first type of optical energy. An optical detecting device is included in the optical apparatus that measures a characteristic of the at least one substance from the response of the reactive region when the reactive region is in contact with the at least one substance.
