Abstract:
A method is disclosed for determining a branching point within a hollow organ in image data representing the spatial structure thereof. In at least one embodiment, the method includes setting a start point within the hollow organ; determining at least one local threshold which corresponds to the presence of a wall of the hollow organ; carrying out a region growing method using the threshold; analyzing the connectivity of a number of outer growth layers; and localizing a branching on the basis of the connectivity analysis. Moreover, at least one embodiment of the invention relates to a correspondingly designed branching determination unit.
Abstract:
There is described a method for producing a hole using e.g. a lasers, wherein short laser pulse durations are used. The laser pulse durations are varied, short laser pulse durations being utilized only in the area to be removed in which an influence on the penetration behavior and discharge behavior is noticeable while longer pulse durations of >0.4 ms are used. This is the case for the inner surface of a diffuser of a hole, for example, which can be produced very accurately by means of short laser pulse durations.
Abstract:
An axial piston machine having a control plate and a cylinder drum rotating relative to the control plate. The control plate rubs or slides on a second sliding side of the cylinder drum via a first sliding side. One of the sliding sides has a carbon-containing layer.
Abstract:
Methods, kits and compositions are described that include a non-naturally occurring kallikrein inhibitor and an anti-thrombolytic agent, e.g., an anti-fibrinolytic agent, for preventing or reducing blood loss and/or ischemia, e.g., ischemia associated with perioperative blood loss and cerebral ischemia, the onset of systemic inflammatory response, and/or reperfusion injury, e.g., reperfusion injury associated with cerebral ischemia or a focal brain ischemia, e.g., in patients subjected to invasive surgical procedures, especially procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass.
Abstract:
An access node (1) that is preferably a Flow-Aware Ethernet DSLAM configured to transmit Ethernet data frames between subscribers (2) and an aggregation network (3). The access node comprises a first memory (4) for storing classification rules and a second memory (6) for storing flow rules. These rules are applied by a classification agent (5) and by a service agent (7) to information extracted from incoming data frames in order to infer flow awareness information of outgoing frames corresponding to these incoming data frame. In this way, the subscriber access network evolves to a multi-service architecture by replacing ATM with Ethernet for cost reasons. The concept of “flow awareness” is applied to the present access node. With respect to known tunnel-based Ethernet DSLAMs, the present access node removes all dependency on correct encapsulation or labeling at the customer side and at the service provider side.

Abstract:
Dynamic dispatch for classes and interfaces is encapsulated in a class-less scripting language. A plurality of mechanisms are employed to facilitate dynamic polymorphism. One or more target language constructs such as dictionary objects, prototype objects and/or derived types are utilized to capture class and interface method implementations. These constructs are subsequently referenced at runtime to invoke appropriate code.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an air-gap-insulated exhaust manifold (1) of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, having a collecting line (2) that extends in a longitudinal direction (3), an outlet opening (4) oriented in the longitudinal direction (3), multiple inlet openings (5) oriented across the longitudinal direction (3) and a flange (6) that extends in the longitudinal direction (3) and includes the inlet openings (5), wherein an inside pipe (11) is situated in an outside pipe (10), forming an air-gap insulation, and whereby a gas-carrying outside pipe section (13) is provided in the area of at least one of the inlet openings (5) and leads from the respective inlet opening (5) to an assigned inside pipe inlet (14) which is at a distance from the flange (6). The inside pipe (11) is attached to the outside pipe (10) only in an attachment area (15).
