    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. The LCD includes a display panel and a voltage supply device (VSD). The display panel includes a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines disposed substantially perpendicularly with the scan lines, and a plurality of pixels. The pixels are respectively electrically connected with the corresponding data line and the corresponding scan line, and are arranged in an array. Each of the pixels includes a common line and a compensation line, wherein the common line is located in the transparent area to receive a common voltage, and the compensation line is located in the reflection area to receive a stable voltage. The VSD is coupled to the compensation line of each of the pixels for continuously and correspondingly providing the stable voltage to the compensation line of each of the pixels.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. The LCD includes a display panel and a voltage supply device (VSD). The display panel includes a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines disposed substantially perpendicularly with the scan lines, and a plurality of pixels.     Abstract: A tri-gate pixel structure includes three sub-pixel regions, three gate lines, a data line, three thin film transistors (TFTs), three pixel electrodes, and a common line.     Abstract: A transflective liquid crystal display having a plurality of pixels, each pixel having a plurality of color sub-pixels, each sub-pixel having a transmission area associated with a first charge storage capacitance and a reflection area associated with a second storage capacitance. In the sub-pixel, a data line, a first gate line, a second gate line and a common line are used to control the operational voltage on the liquid crystal layer associated with the sub-pixel. The first and second gate lines are separately set at a first state and a second state. The ratio of the first charge storage capacitance to the second charge storage capacitance can be controlled according to the states of the gate lines. The second charge storage capacitance is provided by two capacitors connected in parallel through a switching element which can be open or closed according to the states of the gate lines.

    Abstract: A driving method for a bistable display device includes setting a first duration and a second duration according to a frame period; applying a first voltage to a light valve layer in the first duration according to display data, so as to transform the light valve layer from a first state to a second state; and applying a second voltage in the second duration to the light valve layer in the second duration for the light valve layer to transform to the first state. Since the light valve layer of the bistable display device is already at the first state prior to displaying the next image, the light valve layer is not required to reset when switching displayed images, hence reducing the total number of frames required to display each image.
