    Abstract: A method according to embodiments of this application includes: A first network device sends a first packet to a second network device, where the first packet includes first indication information, and the first indication information indicates a support status of an iFIT capability corresponding to the first network device or a first service module included in the first network device. The first network device sends the packet to the second network device, to notify the support status of the IFIT capability of the first network device. In this way, the second network device can determine, based on the iFIT capability of the first network device, whether to encapsulate a measurement header, to avoid that a service packet cannot be correctly processed because the first network device cannot strip the measurement header from the service packet.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a route information processing method and an apparatus, which may be used for a network device that supports a BGP protocol, to resolve a defect in an existing BGP SPF protocol. The network device may be a forwarding device, for example, a router or a switch. For example, in embodiments of this application, a priority attribute is introduced to route information that carries NLRI through an extended BGP protocol, to indicate a priority of the route information. This influences a BGP NLRI selection process performed by the network device. For example, embodiments of this application provide a network fault processing method, to help resolve a problem that a network device cannot calculate a packet forwarding path in some scenarios in an existing protocol.

    Abstract: A packet transmission method, device, and system for network technologies are disclosed. A first network device receives, by using a first VPLS instance a packet to be sent to a user-side device connected to the second network device. The first network device forwards, based on an association relationship between the first VPLS instance and the first VPWS instance, the packet to a second VPWS instance in the second network device by using the first VPWS instance. A VPLS instance is associated with a VPWS instance in the first network device. A packet that is received by using the VPLS instance and that is to be sent to a user-side device can be forwarded by using the associated VPWS instance, so that pressure to learn a MAC address for packet transmission is reduced, and forwarding performance of the system is ensured.
