摘要: The shell main body for a muffler includes an inner shell in a cylindrical shape with a cross-section of an imperfect circle defined by small arc portions alternating with large arc portions; and an outer shell wrapping the inner shell and formed in a cylindrical shape similar to the inner shell. An end portion of the inner shell and an end portion of the outer shell are overlapped in a circumstantial direction of the shell main body to form a shell overlap portion that is capable of discharging vapor in a gap of the large arc portions formed between the inner shell and the outer shell into one of an outside and an inside of the shell main body. This shell overlapping portion is located in one of the small arc portions.

摘要: An eccentric optical system forming an optical path where an incident light beam is internally reflected three times to fold the optical path, and then emitted from a transmission surface and imaged on an image surface, and an optical path where the incident light beam is internally reflected two times to fold the optical path, and then emitted from a branching surface and imaged on an image surface. At least two surfaces of the optical operating surfaces are rotationally asymmetric surfaces.

摘要: A glass substrate has a pair of main surfaces opposite to each other. Two island-shaped portions made of silicon are buried in the glass substrate. The tow island-shaped portions are exposed from the two main surfaces of the glass substrate, respectively. An electrode is formed on one main surface of the glass substrate so as to be electrically connected to one exposed portion of one island-shaped portion, and another electrode is formed thereon so as to be electrically connected to one exposed portion of the other island-shaped portion. Still another electrode is formed on the other main surface of the glass substrate so as to be electrically connected to the other exposed portion of the one island-shaped portion. A silicon substrate having a pressure sensing diaphragm is bonded to the other main surface of the glass substrate.

摘要: An extremely compact prism optical element, image observation apparatus and image display apparatus which are capable of providing an observation image that is clear and has minimal aberration and minimal distortion even at a wide field angle. Light rays emitted from an image display device (7) enter an ocular optical system (12) through a fourth surface (6) and are totally reflected toward an observer's pupil (1) by a third surface (5). The reflected light rays are reflected by a first surface (3) disposed immediately in front of the observer's pupil (1) and then reflected toward the observer's pupil (1) by a second surface (4). The reflected light rays pass through the first surface (3) and are projected into an observer's eyeball (15) with the observer's iris position as an exit pupil (1). When an external-scene image is observed, light rays from an object point in the external scene enter the ocular optical system (12) through the third surface (5), pass through the first surface (3) and are projected into the observer's eyeball (15). Assuming that the angle of internal reflection of an arbitrary light ray at the third surface (5) is &thgr;r3, the ocular optical system (12) satisfies the condition of sin−1(1/nd)≦&thgr;r3≦60°, where nd is the refractive index for the spectral d-line of the medium of the ocular optical system (12).

摘要: A load sensor is provided, which prevents defective printing of strain-sensing elements caused by the deflection of a pressure-receiving portion and provides stabilized quality and fabrication yields. The load sensor is provided with the strain-sensing elements printed on the pressure-receiving portion. The tip portion of the strain generating portions having a loading point is allowed to stay in advance below the plane containing the print surface of the strain generating portions in the direction of thickness. The tip portion of the pressure-receiving portion will never stay above the print surface of the strain generating portions even when the pressure-receiving portion is deflected in the heating process during fabrication. Therefore, this makes it possible to avoid defective printing of the strain-sensing elements caused by the deflection of the pressure-receiving portion.

摘要: A photographic film cassette manufacturing apparatus, has a perforator for providing a long film with perforations and a cutter for cutting the long film into individual filmstrips to be contained in the film cassette driven synchronously with transport of the long film. A magnetic recording head for recording data on a magnetic recording layer of the long film is driven in synchronism with the perforator and the cutter. The long film is transported in a first direction before being cut into the individual filmstrips. In cooperation with the cutting, a trailing end of the individual filmstrip in the first direction is moved in a direction which is reverse to the first direction to secure the trailing end to the spool. A cassette shell consisting of a pair of shell halves is temporarily assembled by mating the shell halves together while containing a spool inside the shell halves, and thereafter opened to an extent that confining elements still confine the position of flanges of the spool. The trailing end of the filmstrip is inserted into the opened cassette shell and secured to the spool.
