摘要: A field-emission type switching device includes a substrate formed with a recess having a straight edge and serrated edge opposite to the straight edge. A gate electrode is formed at the bottom of the recess. An emitter electrode is provided over the substrate and formed with a serrated edge which is slightly off alignment with the serrate edge of the recess so as to provide an emitter overhanging portion overhanging the recess. Similarly, a collector electrode is provided over the substrate means and formed with a straight edge which is slightly off alignment with the straight edge of the recess so as to provide a collector overhanging portion overhanging the recess. The emitter and collector electrodes are disposed in one plate and the gate electrode is disposed in another plane below the one plane.

摘要: An optically sensing device is made up of the sensor materials that cause the value of birefringence to vary itself in accordance with external physical volume; a polarizer and an element provided with two total reflection surfaces causing the beam path to invert its direction by an angle of 180.degree.. The optically sensing device has the capability of setting the phase bias by applying the two total reflection surfaces causing the beam path to invert its direction by an angle of 180.degree.. Since each element has different functions, one functioning as a mirror and the other as a quarterwave plate, the optically sensing device is of extremely simple structure and is compact. In addition, since the optically sensing device provides a constant phase bias unlike the unstable performances of conventional quarterwave plates, it guarantees high-precision performance. Also, the use of inexpensive elements ensures reduced cost. In particular, by effectively combining such selected materials featuring photoelastic and electro-optic effects, the optically sensing device embodied by the present invention is extremely effective for detecting the physical volume of a wide variety of substances.

摘要: A camera shutter mechanism for opening and closing a shutter aperture to effect an exposure comprises a group of opening blades movable, when released, from a closed position covering the shutter aperture to an open position uncovering the shutter aperture to thereby initiate an exposure, and a group of closing blades movable, when released, from an open position uncovering the shutter aperture to a closed position covering the shutter aperture to thereby terminate the exposure. A release mechanism releases the opening blades thereby enabling them to move to the open position for initiating the exposure, and subsequently releases the closing blades thereby enabling them to move to the closed position for terminating the exposure. A driving member automatically operates immediately after completion of the exposure to move the group of opening blades back towards the closed position so that the aperture is at least partially covered thereby so as to improve the light-shielding capability of the shutter mechanism.

摘要: A variable interferometric device comprising a Fabry-Perot interferometer composed of a pair of reflecting substances facing each other with a space therebetween formed by spacers and a means for deforming at least one of the reflecting substances constituting said Fabry-Perot interferometer to thereby change the interferometric characteristics of said Fabry-Perot interferometer. Moreover, an optical sensor comprising a light source, a first Fabry-Perot interferometric device, the interferometric characteristics of which vary with the physical quantity of the object to be measured, a light-dividing means for dividing the light from the light source into a first light beam and a second light beam, a second Fabry-Perot interferometric device functioning as a reference standard, the operational conditions of which are set at fixed values, a first photodetector for receiving the first light beam from said light-dividing means through the second Fabry-Perot interferometric device, a second photodetector for receiving the second light beam from said light-dividing means through the second Fabry-Perot interferometric device, and a signal-processing circuit for comparing the output signal from the first photodetector with the output signal from the second photodetector to thereby determine the physical quantity of the object to be measured.

摘要: A picture display device comprising an electron source for producing band-shaped electron beams, electron beam control means for controlling the selective passage of the electron beams, deflection means for horizontally and vertically deflecting the electron beams and display means for emitting light in response to impingement of the electron beams thereon. 摘要: A shutter device for covering or screening a door or window of buildings is disclosed. The shutter device is composed of a plurality of slats adapted to be continuously arranged in a same plane when the slats are supported by guide rails arranged at both sides thereof. Each slat is connected through a link mechanism to adjacent slat such that, in the case of enclosing each slat in a slat enclosing region, when each slat reaches to a conversion region located at one end of a supporting surface formed by a guide rail, each slat is moved laterally in front of or in the rear of the supporting surface to provide a space which permits a succeeding slat to enter into the conversion region and that, in the case of delivering each slat from the slat enclosing region, when each slat is moved from the conversion region along the supporting surface of the guide rail, the succeeding slat is pulled into the conversion region. The movement of each slat is accomplished by a driving mechanism which functions to pull the slat supported by the guide rail into the conversion position or deliver a slat existing in the conversion region therefrom along the guide rail.
