摘要: A method of operating a repeater for wireless communication includes broadcasting, from the repeater, a pilot signal in a service area associated with the repeater. The pilot signal carries a scrambling code that permits mobile terminals to decode information transmitted by the repeater. The method further includes receiving a request to initiate communication from a mobile terminal that has received the pilot signal and, in response to receiving the request, establishing a communication link with the mobile terminal. The method further includes receiving, at a first antenna of the repeater, data transmitted wirelessly by the mobile terminal and transmitting, over a second antenna of the repeater, the received data to a base station.

摘要: A method of configuring a repeater in a mobile communication network includes receiving information identifying a first set of scrambling codes from a repeater. The first set of scrambling codes includes one or more scrambling codes that are being used by base stations from which the repeater has received signals. The method also includes determining a set of one or more unavailable scrambling codes based on the first set and selecting a scrambling code for the repeater based on the set of unavailable scrambling codes. Additionally, the method includes transmitting information identifying the selected scrambling code to the repeater.

摘要: A radio terminal connection may be handed over from a serving base station associated with a serving cell to a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell served by a CSG base station in which only radio terminals belonging to the CSG are permitted to access and receive service from the CSG cell. Radio terminals in the serving cell are generally informed not to report to the serving base station signal quality measurements of signals transmitted by CSG base stations. But if a radio terminal in the serving cell is authorized to access and receive service from the CSG cell, then that radio terminal is instructed to report to the serving base station signal quality measurements of signals transmitted by the CSG base station. Based on that report, the connection may be handed over to the CSG base station. A central node provides a CSG authorization list identifying CSG authorized radio terminals to the serving base station when a listed CSG cell is a neighboring cell which the radio terminal is authorized to access.

摘要: In a method and an apparatus for determining when a cell of a cellular radio system can enter a discontinuous transmission mode is provided. By evaluating qualities from both the cell and neighboring cells for a number of positions and calculating a statistically expected quality distribution of the evaluated qualities conditioned on that certain cells are in discontinuous transmission mode it is possible to generate a distribution which can be compared with at least one requirement thresholds. Based on the comparison it is possible to determine if first cell can use discontinuous transmission mode and still fulfill the requirements.

摘要: A method in a first base station for supporting DTX is provided. The first base station serves a first cell being in an active mode. The first base station communicates with a user equipment within the first cell. The first base station is comprised in a radio communications system further comprising the user equipment and a second base station serving a second cell being in a non observable mode. The first base station sends (602) to the second base station, a request to switch the second cell state from a non observable mode to an observable mode. It further sends (603) to the user equipment or to the second base station, a request to perform signalling between the user equipment and the second base station for quality measurements. The first base station then obtains (604) information that handover is feasible, based on quality measurement of the performed signalling. The first base station sends (605) to the second base station, a request to prepare handover of the user equipment from the first cell to the second cell, and further (606) to the user equipment, a command to perform handover to the second cell.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a communication network node for enabling automatic planning and handling of root sequences used at random access in a communication network system, wherein user equipments (18) are accessing a cell (19a) being served by said communication network node. Root sequence usage information from neighbouring cells (19b, 19c) is acquired. Root sequence conflicts between root sequences used in said served cell (19a) and root sequences used in said neighbouring cells (19b, 19c) are detected. When no conflict is detected, appropriate new root sequence(s) is/are selected. Otherwise, detected root sequence conflicts are resolved by deriving a new set of root sequences.

摘要: A method and arrangement in a first node (101) for determining radio characteristics of a radio link between a first repeater (103, 203) and at least one second repeater (104, 204) are provided. The first node sends a first message, to the first repeater (103, 203), instructing the first repeater (103, 203) to send a radio signal being measureable by the second repeater (104, 204). Furthermore, the first node sends a second message, to said at least one second repeater, instructing said at least one second repeater (104, 204) to measure on the radio signal. The first node receives measurement data of the radio signal, measured by said at least one second repeater (104, 204). The first node (101) determines radio characteristics of the radio link between the first repeater (103, 203) and said at least one second repeater based on the measurement data. Methods and arrangements in a first and second repeater and a method and arrangement in a second node for contributing to radio characteristics determination are provided.
