    摘要: A burner for combusting gas and/or liquid fuel and air in an enclosure includes a burner block of non-combustible material, such as ceramic material, having a central opening therethrough communicating with a combustion zone. The burner block has a plurality of spaced apart recirculation gas passageways paralleled to and spaced from the central opening, each of the recirculation gas passageways having an injection passageway communicating with the block member central opening. Fuel, which may be liquid and/or gas, is injected into said burner block central opening. Venturi action causes furnace gas to be drawn from the cool fringes of the combustion zone through the recirculation gas passageways for passage back into the central opening wherein air and fuel are thoroughly mixed and cooled for combustion within the enclosure. This recirculation system serves to reduce the temperature and oxygen content of the local combustion process to thereby reduce NO.sub.x production. An annular flame director ring positioned within the burner block central opening adjacent to and below the injection passageways augments the Venturi action to increase flow through the recirculation passageways.

    摘要: A transmission cable having a nonhalogenated jacket and a nonhalogenated composition for use as a transmission cable jacket. The jacket is prepared from a nonhalogenated polyolefin based formulation having flame retardant, low corrosivity, low toxicity and low smoke characteristics. The jacket material insulates a core transmission medium such as a metallic conductor or optical fiber. The jacket is extruded about the core or insulator during manufacture. The inventive cable has a jacket formed of nonhalogenated polyethylene and nonhalogenated ethylene vinyl acetate and provides a combination of desired mechanical characteristics, improved performance and manufacturing features while eliminating undesirable corrosive products released during a fire.

The transmitter includes a plurality of radiation transmission sources. Each of the sources transmits to a portion of the illumination spot.     摘要: An infrared RS 232 communication link protocol is particularly suited for correcting any errors introduced during a transmission of information. The information is transmitted from a transmitting station to a receiving station. Each of the stations has a control counter each of which toggles between a logic 0 and 1. The control counter for the transmitter and the receiver are phase locked so that all errors may be corrected. The receiver echoes each data bit back to the transmitter which compares the echoed data to the transmitted data. If there is a match, the transmission was successful. If there is no match, the data must be retransmitted. A retransmit control character RTXx is sent to indicate that the receiver should discard the previous character and prepare for a retransmission of the character having the error. Under the proper circumstances and if the counters are still phase locked, the receiver then discards the previously stored character and inverts the counter. If the receiver detects that it has received an erroneous character, such as one having multiple or no PPM pulses, the receiver will simply respond with the reject control character REJ. In such a case, the transmitter will respond with an RTXx which causes the receiver to discard the previously stored character and invert the counter.
