摘要: A windshield document protecting device including a panel having a front face and a back face. The front face has an adhesive disposed thereon. The front face has a document receiving recess formed therein. The recess is dimensioned for receiving registration and inspection stickers therein whereby the registration and inspecting stickers face the front face. The panel is affixed to the windshield with the registration and inspection stickers visible by looking through the windshield from outside the vehicle.

摘要: A container is provided for the storing of light sensitive exposed storage layer radiation screens. The container includes walls defining an interior volume, an aperture in one of the walls sized to allow entry of a storage layer radiation screen, a screen receiving surface adjacent to the aperture which is shaped to direct a dropped screen into and through the aperture into the interior volume, an interior dark section of the container within which light exterior to the container cannot reach, and an interior guiding section that is shaped to direct a screen dropped through the aperture to come to rest in the interior dark section. A method is provided for storing light sensitive exposed storage layer radiation screens. The method includes removing an exposed storage layer radiation screen contained within a screen envelope from a patient's mouth, and releasing the screen from the screen envelope such that the screen drops out of the screen envelope and through an aperture of a container for storing the screen which prevents light exterior to the container from reaching the screen. By following this method, the latent image on the exposed radiation screens is retained while minimizing the risk of transfer of infectious agents which may be present on the screen envelope and user's gloves.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for automatically generating features of computer animated objects that are represented by a skeleton surrounded by an envelope. An animator may modify the shape of the envelope for a particular configuration of the object's skeleton ("pose"). These envelope modifications for these poses are stored. When an animator desires to create a new pose, the stored modifications for previous poses are blended together, based upon the difference between each pose and the new pose, to automatically generate a modified envelope shape for the new pose. When satisfied with a particular envelope shape for a pose, the animator may store the modification in the database and the modification may then be used for subsequent poses.

摘要: An optical see-through head-mounted display device includes a see-through lens which combines an augmented reality image with light from a real-world scene, while an opacity filter is used to selectively block portions of the real-world scene so that the augmented reality image appears more distinctly. The opacity filter can be a see-through LCD panel, for instance, where each pixel of the LCD panel can be selectively controlled to be transmissive or opaque, based on a size, shape and position of the augmented reality image. Eye tracking can be used to adjust the position of the augmented reality image and the opaque pixels. Peripheral regions of the opacity filter, which are not behind the augmented reality image, can be activated to provide a peripheral cue or a representation of the augmented reality image. In another aspect, opaque pixels are provided at a time when an augmented reality image is not present.

摘要: Disclosed is a recombinant polypeptide for facilitating membrane fusion. The recombinant polypeptide having a sequence with at least 80% sequence identity with the ectodomain of p14 fusion-associated small transmembrane (FAST) protein and having a functional myristoylation motif, a transmembrane domain from a FAST protein and a sequence with at least 80% sequence identity with the endodomain of p15 FAST protein. A targeting ligand can be added to the recombinant polypeptide for selective fusion. The recombinant polypeptide can be included in the membrane of a liposome, or the like, to facilitate the delivery of bioactive compounds, such as siRNA, or the recombinant polypeptide can be mixed with a lipid carrier and added to cultured cells to induce cell-cell fusion and heterokaryon formation.

摘要: System(s) and method(s) are provided for extension of mobile operation to a device. An extension interface comprises a client component within a mobile that is linked to a client component within the device. Extension of mobile operation is secured via delivery of credentials associated with the mobile to the device. Delivery of credentials is temporary and typically spans the period during which mobile operation is extended to the device. Mobile's application(s) and content(s) can be conveyed to the device for utilization therein. An emulation component that can reside at least in part on the client component within the device can emulate mobile operation. Client component within the mobile can include at least in part (i) a component that downloads drivers for communication with, and utilization of, the device to which mobile operation is extended, and (ii) a component that can scan for wireless-capable devices to extend mobile service thereto.
