    摘要: An ink-jet recording apparatus ejects ink droplets having two sizes, a large size and a small size. The ink-jet recording apparatus records data with a pattern assigned to quantized data. This arrangement reduces density non-uniformity and streaks related to the landing accuracy of ink droplets, the accuracy of sheet conveyance in the recording apparatus, and the accuracy of carriage scanning. Recording is performed with large and small dot-matrix patterns assigned to quantized data on independent planes. When the large dot and the small dot in a pattern are provided to one pixel at the same time, the large dot and the small dot are placed in positions not overlapping in the one pixel.

    摘要: In an ink-jet apparatus for forming images through use of an ink-jet head provided with a plurality of ink ejection heaters with respect to only one ejection orifice, an accurate estimation of temperature of the ink-jet head is made possible by controlling ink-ejection amount in a step-by-step manner. For this purpose, there is provided a device for counting frequency of use of the plurality of heaters within a predetermined period of time independently for each combination of the heaters for ejecting different amount of ink (in steps S1002, S1003), and a combining device for adding a correction value to each of the thus counted value on the basis of the heater driving condition, and converting the total value into the energy applied within a predetermined period (in steps S1008, S1004 and S1005). The estimation of temperature is performed by use of the thus obtained energy.

    摘要: An ink jet color recording method forms a multi-color image on a single recording medium using a monochrome recording apparatus, which includes a mounting portion for detachably mounting an ink recording head for recording by ejecting a monochrome ink, a feed unit for feeding the recording medium, and a discharge unit for discharging the recording medium. First recording information is supplied to a first ink recording head, attached to the mounting portion, for ejecting a first ink, recording is performed using the first ink on the recording medium fed to the recording region by the feed unit, and the recording medium is discharged by the discharge unit. Next, second recording information is supplied to a second ink recording head, attached to the mounting portion in place of the first ink recording head, for ejecting a second ink, the recording medium, on which recording using the first ink has been completed, is fed to the recording region, recording is performed using the second ink, and the recording medium is discharged by the discharge unit.
