    摘要: An cervical drug delivery apparatus having an absorbent cylindrical structure with a cervical cap attached to one end. One or more therapeutic agents are applied to the internal surface of the cervical cap. The cervical drug delivery apparatus is housed within an applicator and inserted into a patient's vagina. Upon deployment of the cervical drug delivery apparatus, the cervical cap is automatically positioned over the patient's cervix providing for the direct application of the therapeutic agents on the patient's cervix. Alternative features of the cervical drug delivery apparatus include, a break-away cylindrical structure, a collapsible support structure for the cervical cap, an inflatable means for supporting the cervical cap, and the ability of the cylindrical structure and/or the cervical cap to contain one or more therapeutic agents that can be delivered by outside means.

    摘要: An assembly of interconnected containers includes a plurality of containers each of which has an upper portion connected to a lower portion by a hinge or hinges with the upper portion having a pair of elongated generally parallel upwardly open channels. The container also has a pair of generally parallel generally downwardly projecting flanges structured to engage an upwardly open channel of an adjacent container and adjacent containers have either at least one of the channels engaged by a flange of an adjacent container or at least one of its flanges engaged in a channel of an adjacent container or both. The channels are preferably open having at least one end so as to permit relative sliding removal and insertion of the containers from and into the assembly. In another embodiment, a rail and flange structure is provided to interengage adjacent containers within an assembly. A container can also be provided that has a lid portion hingably attached to the upper portion of the container. This “split” clamshell embodiment permits articles to be removed from the container without removal of the container from the assembly of interconnected containers. The containers may be transparent and molded as a unit with integrally formed hinges. Support structures may be provided within the container to support one or more articles disposed therein. Individual containers for use in such an assembly are disclosed.

    摘要: An axial vane rotary device (14) includes a stator (16)with a cylindrical internal chamber (34) defined an annular outer wall (40) and two side walls (36, 38) of the stator. Each side wall has an annular cam surface (42, 44). A rotor (54) is rotatably mounted within the chamber. The rotor has an annular outer wall (66) and a plurality of angularly spaced-apart, axially extending slots (64) extending therethrough. A vane (68) is slidably received in each slot. The vanes reciprocate axially and alternatively expand and compress spaces between adjacent vanes and the cam surfaces as the rotor rotates. The cam surfaces have alternating first portions (92) and second portions (90). The second portions are further from the rotor than the second portions. The first portions of one said cam surface are aligned with second portions of another said cam surface. The slots extend radially outwards on the rotor to the annular outer wall thereof. The outer edge of each vane slidably engages the annular outer wall of the stator. The outer wall of the stator may have a guide cam (96) and the vanes may each have a follower (98) received by the guide cam. The guide cam is shaped to cause the vanes to reciprocate axially with respect to the rotor as the rotor rotates. Each of the vanes may have resiliently biased first seals (110, 112) extending along the inner edge (106) and second seals (134) along side edges (70, 72) thereof.

    摘要: A high performance floating point mantissa divider employs SRT division, a Radix-4 redundant digit set and the principles of carry-save addition. At each step in the division, the upper few most significant bits of the partial remainder and the divisor are inspected via a look-up table to select the appropriate quotient digits. The quotient digits are represented in a Radix-4 redundant digit set, and the look-up table is generated using SRT division principles. The selected quotient digit is used to control a multiplexor which selects the selected multiple of the divisor. This value is subtracted from the partial remainder via a carry-save adder to form the new partial remainder. As the quotient digits are generated, they are placed in two shift registers, one for the sum digits and one for carry digits. When the division is complete, the shift registers are added to give the final quotient mantissa. A combination of a carry save adder and carry look ahead adder reduce the practical implementation to only 8 logic levels.

    摘要: Oscillatory motion apparatus has a first reciprocating rod oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to a second reciprocating rod. A first trammel gear is pivotally secured to the first and second rods. Reciprocation of the rods produces responsive rotation of the trammel gear. An output gear may be rotated responsive to rotation of the trammel gear. The invention may be embodied in an engine block and two or more pairs of opposed cylinders each containing pistons adapted for reciprocation therein is provided. The rods, which may be connecting rods, connect pairs of opposed pistons. The connecting rods are preferably oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to each other. The connecting rods are rotatably connected to the trammel gear. Reciprocation of the pistons results in rotation of the trammel gear which is operatively associated with an output gear to produce rotary output. In one embodiment a bifurcated connecting rod permits two trammel gears to be employed with corresponding use of two output gears. In another embodiment, a planetary arrangement is provided. The engine is compact, lightweight and has a very high horsepower to weight ratio.

    摘要: A compact spray gun using a single air supply port to actuate two piston valves and act as an air refinement system. An externally adjustable cartridge type packaging assembly needle piston valve seals the resin. A spool valve portion of a catalyst piston valve having O-ring seals is separable external from the piston portion. Leak detection ports are provided so the operator can easily determine when to adjust or replace the packing or O-ring seals. The catalyst piston valve controls the mixing of the catalyst and air from a second air supply port. In a preferred embodiment, the resin piston valve controls a valve which provide air to the chopper system simultaneously with spraying of the resin.

The force moment is measured by sensing incipient movement around the axis, and generating and measuring a nulling force. In preferred embodiments, the oscillating means are mounted on a spring arm having a natural frequency substantially equal to that of the "U" shaped conduit, and in a particularly preferred displacement the measuring means are sensors mounted on the "U" shaped conduit and adapted to measure, with proper direction sense, the time differential between the leading and trailing portions of the "U" shaped conduit passing through the plane of the "U" shaped conduit at substantially midpoint of the oscillation thereof.
