    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A target user equipment (UE) may communicate (e.g., transmit, receive) a message indicating a relay UE for relaying wireless communications between the target UE and a base station. The relay UE is selected from a set of candidate relay UEs based on existing sidelink relay communication links at the relay UE, candidate target UEs associated with the relay UE, existing communication sidelinks between the target UE and the candidate relay UEs, or any combination thereof. The target UE may receive a first control signal indicating a sidelink relay communication link for communicating messages between the first UE and the base station via the relay UE, and receive a second control signal activating the sidelink relay communication link. The target UE may then communicate a message to or from the base station via the relay UE and the sidelink relay communication link.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a sidelink user equipment (UE) may monitor a set of symbols over a wireless channel. The set of symbols may include at least a first subset of symbols and a second subset of symbols. A quantity of symbols included in the first subset of symbols may be based on a carrier frequency of the wireless channel, a symbol length of the wireless channel, a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of the wireless channel or a capability of the sidelink UE.     Abstract: Aspects relate to mechanisms for a wireless communication device to configure and indicate one or more beams for sidelink communication with another wireless communication device. The sidelink communication can include first stage sidelink control information (SCI) and second stage SCI that may be communicated on a first beam configured on the wireless communication devices. The sidelink communication can further include sidelink data traffic that may be communication on a second beam. The second beam may be the first beam or a different beam based on at least one of a beam capability of at least the first wireless communication device or a gap between the sidelink data traffic and at least one of the first stage SCI or the second stage SCI.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, a transmission reception point (TRP) apparatus of a Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) network, determines a periodicity of periodic traffic between the TRP apparatus and a user equipment (UE), and schedules a Channel State Information (CSI) process in advance of a traffic window for a next instance of the periodic traffic in accordance with the determined periodicity. In another embodiment, the UE of the CoMP network performs the CSI process in advance of the traffic window for the next instance of periodic traffic between the UE and the TRP apparatus, the CSI process being scheduled in accordance with the determined periodicity of the periodic traffic.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) is configured to set a transmission power for an uplink communication based, at least in part, on a downlink communication. The UE is further configured to perform the uplink communication based, at least in part, on the set transmission power while concurrently performing the downlink communication. For example, in some aspects, the transmission power for the uplink communication may be set based on the type of downlink communication or based on one or more parameters associated with the downlink communication. In additional aspects, an algorithm may be used to set the transmission power for the uplink communication.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information from a base station that indicates a set of resources for the UE to establish sidelink communications with another UE in a wireless network. The UE may transmit a first set of reference signals using a first set of beams to determine a set of neighboring candidate UEs for a sidelink connection. The UE may then transmit a second set of reference signals on a second set of beams to the neighboring candidate UEs, and may select a second UE located in the determined neighboring set using various beam scanning procedures. The UE may identify a transmit beam associated with the second UE, and may establish the sidelink connection using the identified transmit beam.
