Abstract: Embodiments of present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for managing security context related to a UE. Initially, registration of a UE with a new AMF in a communication network is identified. Further, generation of new security context by new AUSF selected by the new AMF for authentication of the UE is detected. Further, presence of one or more old security contexts elated to the UE and generated by one or more old AUSFs selected by one or more old AMFs for one or more previous authentications of the UE, is detected. Upon the detection, de-registration of the UE with the one or more old AUSFs is initiated for managing security context related to the UE in the communication network. Thus, stale and inactive security context related to the UE may be deleted in the network and security of communication with the UE is enhanced.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system. A method for Network slice admission control for interworking with an Evolved Packet Core Network (EPC) in a wireless network by a Session Management Function-Packet Data Network Gateway (SMF-PGW-C) is provided. The method includes detecting that at least one UE transfers a Packet Data Network (PDN) connection or a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session from a N1 mode to a S1 mode during an intersystem change. Further, the method includes determining that an EPC counting is not required for a network slice of the wireless network. Further, the method includes transmitting a message to a Network Slice Admission Control Function (NSACF) in the wireless network to update or reduce a number of User Equipments (UEs) per network slice and a number of PDU sessions per network slice.

Abstract: A method disclosed herein includes registering, by a UE, with a same PLMN over a 3GPP access and a non-3GPP access. The method includes receiving, by the UE, a notification message from a CN of the PLMN over the non-3GPP access, in response to at least one communication service pending to be delivered to the UE over the 3GPP access. The method includes sending, by the UE, a notification response message to the CN over the non-3GPP access, in response to the received notification message. In order to avoid delay in acquiring downlink communication services, the method includes triggering, by the UE, the registration procedure with the CN to receive communication services over the 3GPP access in response to the UE entering the coverage of the 3GPP access.

Abstract: A method and system in the User Equipment (UE) for maintaining rejected network slice selection assistance information (NSSAI) for Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI) not available due to maximum number of UEs reached per access type. The method comprises receiving a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) message including at least one of a registration accept, registration reject or CONFIGURATION UPDATE COMMAND message along with at least one of rejected Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI(s)) information and a cause for the S-NSSAI not available due to maximum number of UEs reached from a network. Thereafter, the method includes determining by the UE an access type on which the rejected S-NSSAI(s) is applicable based on the received S-NSSAI(s) information and then maintaining a storage of the rejected NSSAI for the S-NSSAI not available due to the maximum number of the UEs reached per access type based on the determination.

The method further includes assigning a radio capability identifier (RAC-ID) to the UE for signalling the radio capability information encoded in the multiple formats across the multiple RATs. The method further includes encoding the radio capability information in a specific format of the indicated RAT and assigning the RAC-ID to the UE for signalling the radio capability information and the associated encoding format.-
