    摘要: A common electrode and an individual electrode are provided in plural pairs on a first transparent substrate, and recesses are formed in a second substrate in positions corresponding to the pairs of electrodes to define discharge cells of display cells. The display cells of a display panel can be individually driven on the cell-by-cell basis and the planar panel has a reduced thickness. A voltage pulse is applied to the individual electrode to reverse the polarity of wall charges accumulated on a dielectric layer, and a voltage pulse is then applied to the common electrode so that an electric field of the wall charges caused upon the reversal of the polarity is additionally applied. Thereby provided are a planar display panel which can set a large control margin in the display operation, ensure stable display, and present gradation display with high reliability and quality.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube includes a generally rectangular shadow mask having a curved apertured portion having a multiplicity of electron-transmissive apertures, a curved imperforate portion surrounding and integral with the apertured portion and a skirt portion bent back from a periphery of the curved imperforate portion, and a generally rectangular support frame for suspending the shadow mask by spot welding the skirt portion thereto, within a panel portion of the color cathode ray tube. The skirt portion is provided with a plurality of embossments and is fitted inside the support frame. The embossments protrude inwardly and extend in a direction of a height of the skirt portion. A distance between a bottom of each of the plurality of embossments and a border of the curved apertured portion is at least 4.5 mm.

A voltage pulse is applied to the individual electrode to reverse the polarity of wall charges accumulated on a dielectric layer, and a voltage pulse is then applied to the common electrode so that an electric field of the wall charges caused upon the reversal of the polarity is additionally applied.     摘要: A color cathode ray tube including a generally rectangular shadow mask with at least a long side, a short side and a corner, and having a curved apertured portion with a multiplicity of electron-transmissive apertures, a curved imperforate portion surrounding and integral with the apertured portion and a skirt portion bent back from a periphery of the curved imperforate portion. A generally rectangular support frame is provided for suspending the shadow mask by spot welding the skirt portion thereto within a panel portion of the color cathode ray tube. The skirt portion is provided with a plurality of slits extending in a direction of a height of the skirt portion and a plurality of embossments extending in the direction of the height of the skirt portion in one of a long side and a short side of the skirt portion. The plurality of slits and the plurality of embossments are juxtaposed around a circumference of the skirt portion with a majority of the plurality of slits in the one of the long side and the short side of the skirt portion being unbridged slits or with the plurality of slits extending a distance no greater than 70% of the height of the skirt portion from a rear end of the skirt portion on an opposite side thereof from the panel portion.

    摘要: A method of forming a groove having a desired cross section easily and rapidly, by making laser beam scan in the longitudinal direction of the groove. In the method, a laser beam 11 is irradiated to a work 15 to form a groove 16. When the longitudinal and the width direction of the groove is the x-axis and the y-axis, respectively, an intensity distribution of the laser beam in an irradiated region Q on the work is expressed by f(x, y). An integral of f(x, y) with respect to x, i.e., g(y), is proportional to a depth distribution of the groove 16, d(y), and the intensity distribution f(x, y) is formed by passing the laser beam 11 through a mask pattern 12a which has an appropriate transmission factor distribution. The groove 16 is formed by moving the region Q in the x-axis direction. The cross section of the groove 16 is determined by the mask pattern 12a. And the groove 16, having a desired cross section, is obtained in one scanning in the x-axis direction.
